Is Mario Galaxy too easy?

I have allowed my son to play MG for 8 hours this weekend (special occasion with this release).

I watched him for about 1h and, although there are some complexities with the circular worlds and the gravitational changes, it seems much easier to get the stars than with Mario64.

He agreed with this observation, but put it down to the different controllers.

He now has 53 stars from his 8 hours play and can complete the game with only 60 (which I'm sure he will do).

Although it looks fun, I feel a bit disappointed by it.

Any thoughts?

my 3 year old done the first 11 stars for me but he could not figure out the scrap yard level & got upset so now he wont play it

For me, Galaxy is just right.  I only play sparingly.  One or two hours at a time and have 35 stars.  I'm taking it easy but the game's difficulty has never really made me frustrated.  Challenge is just right.

Hi

Well, personally SMG is frustrates me a bit. Granted, almost every game frustrates me. (I'm not a very good gamer, no matter how much I play I never seem to get any better) So far, the difficulty in SMG is just right, with the exception of the 1st bowser fight which took me forever to beat. (I'm assuming there are more, I've only actually fought him that one time) I think that SMG will be the first non-kirby game (Kirby games are very easy) I've played in a while that hasn't made me get so frustrated I give up.

Y'know, even though a diffucult game makes it take one longer to beat the game, it takes a lot of fun out of the game. I mean, who likes being stuck on a certain level? Who likes getting frustrated? I personally prefer an easy but short game to a hard and long one. If the game's not fun, nothing else matters.

BTW The game is FANTASTIC! I had extreamly high expectations for the game, and the game completely exceeded my expectations. With the exception of the single Bowser level which frustrated me, the game is PERFECT

I didn't think the first Bowser was very difficult, but you do find yourself thrown in a situation where you are not used to.  I still enjoyed it all.  Guess different people have differing opinions though.

Maybe my son does too much gaming then! (his mother is constantly saying that but, given the amount of other pressures that 10 year olds have- homework, music practice, sports- they need a good break).

Anyway, I agree that it is a fun game- and so does he-, it doesn't seem as hard to get the stars as in the original game.

Also glad to see that "Hi" is back with us.
