My ds hinge is broken and i stupidly :crazy2: put superglue to the broken part.
Now the ribbon in the hinge is also glued and it can not be opened for maintenances.
Can it be saved?
Edit:
ok maybe i am not clear enough.
the hinge of the ds lite broke and in a desperate attempt for repair i just glued it.
fast foward a few days, i now decided to repair it.
so i had sent it to a local shop to change the case.
however the repairer refused to open the ds when it sees the glue that i put.
he said that the ribbons would be damaged.
i think that the ribbon is replaceable, so even if the ribbon is damaged, just replace the ribbon.
it is hard to play now that the upper screen would not lock in place.
any opinion on my problem?

yes if the ribbon is glued to the case then probably it will be damaged on trying to remove it , as for the glue problem if you havent got to much glue on the ds,  replace it with a replacement shell and probably need new ribbon cable and there are 2 other cables that run along side the ribbon cable that may need looking at . You will not know the extent of the glue damage until u get the ds dismantled ...............good luck

thanx.
the ds is still working so dismantling will have to wait :P
So, the ribbon is detachable from the screen above and the board?
it was not made in the way that if the ribbon is ruined, the above screen and the board is ruined?

Depending where you live in the UK poundland super glue pack also comes with a anti superglue unsticker you could try something like that on the part you glued.

My left hinge broke as well [original DS].

I left it alone.

Glue was a really, really bad idea. The best thing to do is to really, just let it be.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
