"Best" GBA games?

Can't get FF4, Contra Ex, or Drill Dozer to work. Not even Super Mario Advance 2! :|

I could've sworn I got SMA2 to work before.

How disappointing...

Are you using Supercard Software 2.53 or anything earlier? 2.53 patches the roms you mentioned perfectly.

The 2.54 series can cause problems with GBA roms.

People seemed to have mentioned most of my favorite games but no one has mentioned wario ware twisted. It won't work on supercard though for obviouse reasons.

Oh. I figured that compatibility would always get better, not worse. I'll try downloading 2.53 and see if I can get some more working. Thanks for the tip!

Hmm... Using 2.53 now, still can't get mario 2 or FF4 to patch. Any suggestions? I'd really like to get FF4 at least, RPGs last a long time.

I played FF4 extensivly on my supercard (as my poor final's scores partially reflect). Try the patcher that was most current on December 15th, not sure the version, I think its setupsdV242en.exe.

They may have "put in" everything from the snes version but they did so poorly. I don't mind the graphics hit, but the redone menu system, unresponsive tales of destiny style battle system and poor dubbing ruined the game entirely for me. Also, aside from the redone music (which doesn't matter much to me as I have the soundtrack) I greatly prefer the SNES version to the PS1. I never compared it to the PS1 version.... :roll:

2.42 fails also. Should I be uninstalling and reinstalling the SC software? I've just been creating new directories for every new version... I'll try uninstall+reinstall and see if it gets me anywhere.

1) Make sure you have a clean rom.

2) When you say "Fails" do you mean that the game doesn't play? or that the software tells you that it fails? It's pretty common for the Supercard software to complain that it failed at patching, while the game still works perfectly fine.

2.53 patches ff4 and SMA2 for me

Yeah, it's strange. I remember playing SMA2 on my old DS+SC, so it must be possible somehow.

What region is your FF4 rom from?

Hmm.. ok, so it said "fail" but I've put it on my CF and it works fine. Seems to, anyway. Weird.
