New GBA...googled and found supercards...researched them...got one...formatted an old 512Mb CF card (FAT)...put a few roms on...played for a few days....no problems.

Then GBA makes a whining noise for an hour while I play and next time I try to turn it on no power. I plug in the charger and still no power.

Have I done something or is it just a dud GBA and coincidence?

Any help appreciated, cheers. :(

I doubt that the SC damaged your system in any way.  Maybe you just got a bad GBA.  The only thing that the SC could do is reflash your NDS if you run Darkains software on it.

I found the problem, I'd bent a pin on the supercard - it doesn't look very good quality having had a closer look. Anyway, just to finish this thread, I carefully bent the pin back (after swopping my GBA at the shop) and all is well   :D

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

Your lucky.  I tried bending the pins back but me out of anger forced the cartridge open and broke a pin off.  Now I have to buy another supercard and a tri wing screwdriver to solder a wire on the ds fuse to turn it back on. :(
