Here is a 22min video of game play footage of the upcoming Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nri2WBf4NoI

Can't belive Nintendo has ruined a Zelda game by forcing us to use the touch pad to control Zelda. You can't even tell what the hell is going on in the game on the screen cause your hand and stylus get in the way of your view. Nitendo needs to learn that too much of a good thing is bad. They already ruined Starfox DS and now Zelda is the next victim of touch screen overdose.

Hey, I like Starfox, but I gotta say I didn't like Animal Crossing's touchscreen controls, I like the DPad way more.

Didn't Four Swords DS get announced? This is the 3D stylus based DS Zelda game and there'll be a 2D SNES like version later for old school fans sometime down the road.

I agree with DEVS, and even posted my own thread at GBA temp a while back about my utter dissapointment when the realisation that the whole game was to played from the stylus.

I wonder how long the wait for a good Zelda game on DS is going to be ? This one is scheduled for mid-2007 (2.5+ years after DS launch)..... poor show all in all.
Yes I'm mad

Same here. I'm praying, PRAYING that it'll be optional like it was in Animal Crossing.  :|

I like the touch screen for puzzles but using the touch screen to move link just feels to different

Seems like a lot of people still can't get over buttons.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

what do you mean "can't get over buttons"?

lightningdude

Remember when everyone went crazy over the Wind Waker? I myself found myself questioning why Nintendo would turn Zelda cel-shaded. Then, I played the game and loved the graphics, because it gave more depth to the game. I think once you guys actually play it and get the hang of it, it won't be so bad.

I'm actually excited, because using the stylus to swing the sword could make you feel more into the game, cuz you aren't just pressing a button, you are actually doing the action.

actually, i didn't understand why everyone questioned that.. it was the best development ever, and a proper continuation of the "feel" of zelda games.. I don't understand why twilight princess is leaning towards "realism"...

Wishmaster

If they choose stylus only, there must be a DAMN good reason. Trust the Zelda franchises that they know what they're doing okay?

i think thats will be like in ff3  you can use the stylus  or the d-pad

Zygarth

My d-pad and ABXY please. I wouldn't feel comfortable playing a zelda game using a pen.
