That's where you set it like L+R+Select+Start?

I have noticed one other thing. Say I have a game or browser on my card. I then delete the game and sav file off for whatever reason... then I decide to I want it on there again and reput it back on through the DSlink software. It saves my last position or settings. That shouldn't be because I deleted everything off the card that pertained to it.

IGR refers to the 'In Game Reset' feature for Supercard. For DSLink this feature is called 'SoftReset' and is an option in the latest DSLink v1.32 patcher software.

So with this feature you can quickly exit a game back to the Supercard menu by using the L+R+A+B+X+Y button combination. For DSLink you can choose between several different button combinations. I like to use L+R+START+SELECT with DSLink.

Oh, DSLink keeps a copy of the last save in it's internal EEPROM.

For every game? Or just the very last one game that has been used saving?

I remember seeing it on gbadev months ago when everyone what the difference between v6 and v7 was (I think).

I found this: http://forums.maxconsole.net/archive/index.php/t-17705.html

Ok, so I see I need the sm-mk4ds.nds file on my SCLite in order to get to the DS-Link menu and run Opera.

Can someone please explain how I make or can find a copy of this file?

Thanks.

Thanks for the file, and thanks for the info! This is absolutely fantastic. I ordered a DS-Link today from RHS, and can't wait to give this a whirl. It's so funny that reading through that unpatcher thread there were many people that did not think it was useful. Now, because of it, it seems that the SC may be the only device that can stay in the NDS while running the DS-Link (with latest firmware that is)? Either way, cool that we have that option!

One other question: I just patched the (E) version of the browser, and the filesize is smaller. Was 8MB, now is 6MB. Does this sound correct? Or better yet, the MD5 of the SC patched file:

Nintendo Wii - cIOS38 Revision 12 (and more)

Yes it works with the latest firmware. If you have a Supercard Lite you will want to use sm-mk4ds.nds instead of the firmware "unpatcher".

Yes it's normal.

I am *trying* to "unpatch" my new Supercard SD's using the unpatcher app. I did this before a long while back with the CF card (I posted in cory's thread back then) but I CANNOT get it to work on these Supercard SD's for the life of me! I have two, one had v1.63 firmware, and the other I updated to the v1.70. I tried the unpatcher on both units. It boots, gives the warning and L+R+Up directions, but says "Not Found!" underneath that with some sort of error code. Any idea why the unpatcher is not finding the SC?

EDIT: Talking with cory1492 about it. It seems the newer SC units use different controller chips, so the current unpatcher will NOT work *all* SC SD units...especially the latest purple versions. I supplied cory1492 with the error code, and offered to test an upcoming version should he decide to try and fix it for the new units. Here's hoping. If not, I'll just use the other method of course. Still, would be nice to do the ABXY again (I liked that...don't ask me why!)

EDIT EDIT: After giving cory1492 a copy of the dumped firmware and some other information on the newer SC SD (new purple model I recieved from RHS) he re-compiled a new version of the unpatcher. I tried it and it worked :) If anyone every needs this, let me know :)

Very interesting update zektor.  I had no idea some supercards have different controller chip behavior.  I guess my SCCF/SCSD/SCminSD are all using original controller chips.  Thank you for looking into this.

I especially want to thank cory1492 for taking the time to update his "unpatcher" utility. Please post a download link zector.

This is the information printed on the flash chip on the two new SC SD units (just ordered from RHS):

Spansion
S29AL0040701A101
0543MVM 6
(C)04 Spansion

Both of my new SC SD units have been updated to v1.70 firmware, and unpatched successfully using the following updated unpatcher:

Big thanks to cory1492 for the help. It is absolutely confirmed to work on the new SC SD units...not confirmed for other SC's however. So, if anybody runs into problems with a "not found" error when attempting to unpatch a new SC SD, and your chip information matches, using this update will most likely work. As always, use at your own risk.

I finally recieved my microSD today and did some testing with the DS-Link/SC SD combo. Works like a charm. This is truly fantastic....and the DS-Link is a fantastic device btw.

One question tho. Using the sm-mk4ds file, I can get it to boot to my SC from the DS-Link...but I cannot get the SC to boot back to the DS-Link for the life of me. I tried patching the sm-mk4ds file to the SC, copying it directly, and doing the same things with the other file (mk4ds.sc.nds). How do I get my SC to boot this file and go back to the slot1 device?

As you said mk4ds.nds works in both directions. The only downside is that it only works one time. In other words mk4ds.nds doesn't work correctly the second time it's run for some reason.
What I meant to say is that it doesn't work correctly the second time it's run unless you power cycle first.  It should work in both directions though.

DSLink:
Copy the original sm-mk4ds.nds to your DSLink without using the DSLink patcher. When you run sm-mk4ds.nds press the B button to boot the Supercard menu.  You can also use LoveLite to do the same thing.

Supercard:
Copy the homebrew patched mk4ds.sc.nds to your Supercard. When you run mk4ds.sc.nds press the A button twice to boot the DSLink menu.
