Hi

Lets say that gamexxx is the only game on your card.

So, that would mean that you would have two files on your card.
the files would be...

xxx.dsq
xxx.sav

Now, both files have something in common. They have the same name.

 He knew that already.

Quiet smily. I'm just tring to explain this in the simplist way possible. He probably does already know that, but I'm telling him anyway. Don't be offended eroki.

Anyway, as I said, both files have something in common.

What do they have in common?

They have the same name...

 No they don't!

AS I WAS SAYING... they have the same name except for there file extension.

So now, patch the gba game that you want to use for gba union with game xxx

copy the patched game (let's say it's game yyy) and copy the game onto your card.

Now you have three files on your card.
They are...

xxx.dsq
xxx.sav
yyy.gba
yyy.sav

Okay, now, rename the file yyy.gba to xxx.gba

It should work.

I'm not quite sure what you do with the yyy.sav file...

No. Fifth's guide says you gotta have a clean GBA rom in there.
DS Lite Onyx Black
Supercard Lite
Nintendo Wii (US)
PSP (Metal Gear PO Limited Edition)

eroki

but if it's a clean gba rom, can i use a save?

EDIT: can u give me a link to this guide you're talking about?

Gleasonator

OK.... first of all let me say that smiley should go through the cheese grater. Sorry smiley...

The NDS ROM, the GBA ROM, and the .sav must all have the same filename. Therefore, you can only have one .sav, so if it requires any information to be sent through IE that you beat the game, you can't do it.

Ummm GBA Union isn't perfect yet, so that might be the problem.

arange

is this the same for the scds, i havent tried it yet but i'm planning on trying it with daigasso bb, when i get a dump of the xpansion pack
rystal white NDSL
DSONE ver.2 + SCL
Kingston Jp 1gb + ATP 1gb

Devil_Spawn

the gba rom doesnt support a .sav afaik

freedom07

im gonna sound like a noob here but what is gba union and what games does it occur in

sinkhead

GBA Union is used one some games where the DS cart exchanges data with a GBA cart. For example, In Pokemon Pearl/Diamond you can transfer Pokemon from your GBA game to your DS game. This process is known as GBA Union.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the data that has all the pokemon's information and such be on the GBA game's .sav file? From what I'm reading here how would someone get this data from just linking the GBA rom?

Exort

Correct. That's the problem here. The only good use for this would be for castlevania DoS where you get something if AoS is inserted in gba slot. (don't remember what it is though)

So for pkmn it's totally useless, indeed.

Hmm

Has anyone tried this on latest firmware ? the save feature now LOADS instead of saving,

Would this work:

XXX.gba (gba file)
XXX.dsq (ds file)
XXX.sav (ds save file)
YYY.sav (gba save file)

Now as the save option on the menu now loads instead of saving culd you load the YYY.sav GBA Save into the ram of the SC by selecting it and pressing A then launch the DS game ???

I'm wondering because as far as I know the DS doesnt use the SRAM section of the supercard does it ?

I've not got a use for union but I'd like to know if it'd work like this :-)

How about this.  Never try yet (You need slot 1 and slot2)

1.Run GBA file on slot2 (The GBA game data will be in slot2 ram)
2.reboot DS (SC team said game file will still stay in ram for 20 seconds)
3.Run DS game from slot 1

Wil the DS game load the gba file in the ram and think it is a real gba card?
