You can download it here. http://www.dslinker.com/soft/    I'm applying it now, and the first thing I'm testing is the new option FULL FORMAT.

Thanks for posting this, I"m going to throw it on my cart now.

Doesn't sound like anything really interesting though. Just that the firmware is more stable. Which I never had a problem with 1.230.

I'm still waiting for Soft Reset, and a full DLDI driver. Those are the only two things this cart is missing.
Setup:

Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

I read in GBATEMP that N-Card team was developing auto DLDI. I think it will be the next feature for DSLinker. About the new firmware, there is no more multi-save, and the boot and menu is fast now. Think they improved something in FAT.

Did you see this?

I guess N-Card has made a beta firmware, that has full DLDI. Something about you don't need a DLDI driver, the firmware patches it automatically. Like you already mentioned.

Then, on the second page of that thread, near the bottom, someone is making it sound like that this feature exists in the new DS-Linker firmware.

EDIT: Hell yeah, this new firmware is very nice. Finally got a nice menu, and it flies. And I guess it does have the DLDI patcher included. Everything in DSOrganize seems to work fine.

Hey h8uthemost, think you are right ! DS Organizer that used to work well on 1.23O is not working on firmware 1.39, but I downloaded the original and new DSOrganizer 2.7 without DLDI patch and it's working very well ! And without DLDI patch ! I'll make more tests with other homebrews, but I think DSLinker team (Supercard Team) did it again ! And another thing that I haven't noticed, is that DS Browser available on their homepage works with Supercard slot2 (think) as RAM. They affirm this, but I cannot test because I don't have Supercard slot2 (i had but i sold).

metalcaipira

Confirmed. It's AUTO DLDI. I ran other 3 homebrews without patch and it's working. Think it's a strong feature on this one ! I'm proud of having this flashcard.

Since it auto patches with DLDI, can you test to see if it has read/write support or just read-only support?  If it's got read/write capability, then it uses a built-in DLDI file that's more functional than the one that the homebrew community has created.

I love how they removed the multiple save system that I had mentioned being buggy in other threads. I also hope this fixes their save issues that many, including myself, have been experiencing. How is the new firmware from those that have tested?

Hell yeah! I'm also proud to have this flashcart. The DLDI auto patcher, and this nice, pretty, fast, new menu, is just making it a great cart.

And I haven't tried much personally, but I have read of a lot of people using Scumm DS, and games are saving with it. So it is read/write support. No longer just read.

If you want me to test personally, just name me some homebrew games, that are DLDI compatible, and uses a save function. I'll be happy to test them.

Could you try SNEmulDS?  See if the savestates work, or if it locks up when you close the lid (as it writes the SRAM to a file at that point).

Hopefully, this can be turned into a DLDI file for the other N-card clones to use.

h8uthemost

Yeah, I'll throw it on my cart now and give it a try.

EDIT:

Yes! I can confirm that SNEmulDS is working on this new DS-Linker firmware. I tried the emulator with Link to the Past, and the game did save successfully. It is indeed read/write support.

I didn't have to do any patching either. I just threw the emulator and rom file on my flash cart, and started it up. That was all.

This really is a great feature.

On a side note, why isn't there any readme text include in the SNEmulDS download? The is a file called Readme, but it's not a text file. So I couldn't open it up. I didn't know I had to make a directory named SNES on the root of my cart, until I started the emulator.

Just thought it was strange. This is the first time I've used this emulator. It's a pretty good one. Well...at least the one game I tried seem to run fine.

Just right-click it and hit Rename and add ".txt" to the end.  You can also just open Notepad first and then click File - Open, selecting "all files" in the "Files of Type" box.

In any case, glad to hear that it works.  Since these are clone cards, does this mean that any user of one of the cards could install this updated DSLINKER firmware to gain the read/write support?

And yes, SNEmulDS is pretty good for the games it supports.  Check out http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/SNEmulDS and the compatibility list it links to for some additional reading if you're interested.

SNEmulDS save states and writes to sram fine for me on the m3simply, or were you refering only to the dslinker dldi dan?

dantheman

Yeah, I'm referring to the DSLINKER.  Previously, the DLDI file for this series of clones was read-only, so they somehow managed to create their own DLDI file that had read/write support and implement it in their auto-patcher.  I'm wondering if it would be possible to extract it from the firmware somehow so that the other clone cards can have full read/write support with the firmware of their choice.

h8uthemost

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that any cart can use the DS-Linker firmware. I used the N-Card beta firmware, which has the DLDI automatic patcher, on my DS-Linker, and it worked fine. All the clones' firmware are interchangeable.

And actually, I'm sure all the clones will have their own auto patcher within a couple days. So I dont think there will be any need to extract the patcher and put in another clones' firmware,
