I updated with the Chinese firmware update, which is also in English.  Does it really matter if you update with the Chinese firmware or English?

Nope, I used the chinese one, because it was out first

I read from the Supercard forums that the Chinese firmware does not break homebrew compatibility.

I updated with the English one and I don't know if I can re-flash it with the Chinese firmware, nor do I know how.

I can't say for sure if this is true.

Some of the homebrew IS broken in the Chinese version, but it should be fixed next week.
