3.50 and lower downgrader released!

noobz strikes again! You will need lumines, but that game is very easy to find. Circuit City has it in their bargain bin for $10 making it much cheaper then the unpatched GTA. It'll probably be a few days before HEN and the downgrader are out, but the program proves it's possible. Noobz always releases a hello world demo before the downgrader just to show off.

(Edit) The downgrader has been released. It requires a US or EUR version of Lumines. Grab a copy quick if you don't already own one as Sony will want the next batch patched to prevent this from being used in the future.

so you're saying that even a new psp with a contemporary mainboard can be downgraded? that is awesome.. now i can pick one up for my wife

I mentioned it to my friend, who told me that downgraders require kernel mode to work, while this exploit is only in user mode. Of course, I don't know how accurate this statement is, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

Since Noobz have been the people making all the downgraders, and they are the ones saying that this will lead to a downgrader, I have all the faith in the world in them.

Great news for my friends who hastily upgraded their PSP firmware. I'm going to pick up a copy of Lumines at Fry's tomorrow.

EDIT:

Fry's only has Lumines II. I'll have to check BestBuy later.

Well whaddya know, they managed to make a downgrader for it already. http://www.noobz.eu/ has the downloads (can't figure out how to link to the specific entry).

It also appears Daedalus r12 was released as well today.

if this works for anyone, please let me know as a friend wants to try it but doesnt want to take the risk of bricking his psp because of a scam :/
i also want to know as well, because it will make my hunt for a psp on ebay much easier since it wont have to be 1.5 firmware

noobz is never a scam, they're the real deal when it comes to the psp homebrew scene, if it's noobz or dark alex, you know it's legit

Before the latest 3.50 downgrader, any PSP with 3.03 or less could be downgraded, which includes all PSP's currently on store shelves. You don't need to look for an old 1.5 firmware PSP.

EDIT:
I couldn't find Lumines at Fry's or BestBuy. I guess I'm forced to resort to EB Games or eBay.

Yay! I found a used copy of Lumines for $14 at at EB Games today. I'm going to try downgrading my friends PSP (3.40) later this evening. I was thinking of adding PSP downgrade service to my other services. What do you guys think is a fair service charge?

I think that would be a great idea. I would use it if I had a PSP, but i am saving for one right now.

I need to brush up on the PSP homebrew scene as I really don't know much about it. And also I will now need a bigger memstick as I only have 1GB Hehe..
