hi!

I have a supercard ds one with the latest sd one software in the root of my microSD card and it is formatted in fat32.

It works all fine but i have one problem.

everytime i boot the ds1-software and start a game the saves cannot be found.

I also tried a self-test and had no errors.

What can be the problem?

I hope somebody can fix this problem...

Have you tried changing the saver size? Does this happen for every game or just a specific one?

hellraiza

Unfortunately, it happens for every game...

If i get my ds one back, i'll try to change the saver size to 2mb or 4mb
Further, i'll try to turn of 'enable patch' as found in this forum. I hope it will work!

Could my problem be connected with the battery which is inside the dsone?

Have you tried fat 16 formatting your card ?

try a single game on their, filename 8 characters - no spaces.

What version of the OS are you using ?

what i forgot:

if i play a game and save it, reboot the ds and start the same game, the save can be found

but if i play another game, the save will be lost?

strange....

hellraiza

I fixed this problem!!  :D

I downloaded the Super Mode software for SC DS(ONE) 2.58 from

http://eng.supercard.cn/soft_scdsone.htm

and patched the roms with it. In addition, the softwares generates .sav-files

Then I copied the files on the ds One and enabled patch mode and its option 'patch saver' (or so) .

Now the saves won't be lost if I play other games etc...

I hope that this will help some people who have the same problem...

good to hear you got it working  :)

btw, when you tried clean roms, did you rename them to a standard old style FAT/DOS format ?? ie 8.3

example-> abcdefgh.jkl  or gamename.nds

otherwise the internal software cannot create a save file so I belive, I don't actually have a scds1 but i heard this... long filenames cannot be created by the scds1 by itself, so 'gamename_wrg-usa.nds' would not work

also I would guess a FAT format would better than FAT32 in this situation as Windows will format it to FAT32 by default.
Yes I'm mad

hellraiza

hm... I have not tried this yet!
If i have some leasure time i'll try it how your advice works!

For some roms, a .sav-file is generated (e.g. Mario Kart), but the .sav-file cannot be found....strange...

Im having the same problem as you, exactly the same, but the difference is that i didnt do anything yet, i am playing the game again and again, but now im getting tired, i was using fat and now fat32 im going back to the old fat format and ill tell you if everything goes back to normal, if i just dont, i will use the same method that you describe above.

BTW sometimes i just loose the sav's from one game and in other times i loose the ones from another, this is very weird and really  >:(.
