o.k. i have a wierd problem with my supercard mini sd working on my gba sp. i will start from the begining in order to explain what i'm talking about. hopefully someone can tell me what is wrong:(
1.i bought a supercard mini sd with version 1.63 firmware installed on it with the idea of it working with my gba sp and running gba roms.
2. first of all i upgraded the firmware from 1.63 to 1.70 and then to 1.81 and installed the conversion software 2.60
3. i formated my 'transcend' 2gb mini sd card to fat format and copied my gba roms to the card(first converting them with the software 2.60).
4. i inserted the supercard int my gba sp and turned it on. the menue appered with all my folders and files visible. i played some games for about an hour every time restarting my gba before i started another game. after playing some games i turned off the gba i started doing something else. after some hours i turned on my game boy once again and this time the menu was empty. not one file or folder was visible. i checked the sd mini card on my pc and everything was still there but when i inserted it into the supercard again it was the same thing - NOthig
5.i formated the card. copied the files again and again started my gba with the newly formated and written mini sd in my sc. everything was again visible. i played a few games but when i stoped i started the gba after some time the menu was empty again.
6.then i started to freak out. i downgraded the firmware to 1.70(because i couldnt find 1.63 anymore) and updated it to 1.81 again. the symptops were the same. i tried with firmware 1.7 alone and conversion soft 2.57. and nothing changed. first everything is fine but when i turn off my gba for a couple of hours the files disappear from the menu despite still being on the card.
7.i worked on this problem till late night and after thinking everything was alright went to bed. when i got up i turned on my gba and almost didnt hurl it at the wall - why you ask ?!? because the files that were there last night werent visible in the menu. non at all !!

PLEAS HELP BECAUSE I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. ...

It sounds like more of a hardware issue.  Did you try cleaning the contacts of both the Supercard and the miniSD card?  And did you try lodging a bit of folded paper into the miniSD card slot to make the contacts press together more?

but if that was the case then removing and reinserting the sd mini card from and into the supercard a few times should produce some effects but that is not the case. i noticed that when i erase the folders and leave just a few files on the supercard the appear again without the need of formating or changeing the firmware. THIS IS SO WEIRD !!!

based directly on what you are sayig, i would first assume it was heat related... when the files arent appearing, try leaving it on/off for a while, then reboot it

that sounds interesting i will give it a try next time my supercard gets Alzheimer’s disease  :tard:

meangreenie

just throwing an idea out here as you problem does indeed sound very weird....

make sure not to have too many files in 1 folder... if your not taking that precaution already as fat can only handle a certain amount of files per folder (i can't remeber the exact number, but i always keep it to below 40)
Yes I'm mad

yes i've read about it somewhere and that is why non of my folders ever has more than 20 files. Although there are about 60 files on my card alltogather. nevertheless i deleted all folders and left only 5 files on my card.i'll wait till tomorow with my gba turned off to see if this weird thing happens again if yes then ..... i really dont have any idea.

OK SO THIS MORNING I TURN ON THE GBA AND THE FILES ARE GONE AS USUAL - WHAT THE F ?!?!

I always put every single game in its own named folder along with the save file and the cheat file if there is one to avoid this issue that plagues fat formatted memory cards of TOO MANY files in the root folder  :)

It also keeps them tidy for deleting games or moving them back to the computer you just deal with the one folder  :)
