I would respond by posting the Penny Arcade comic about the Wii's "Everybody Votes" channel, in which the poll was between Wii and PS3, with the Wii getting 90% of the vote, but I can't for the life of me find it.  =/

Unless someone starts actually making some good Wii games I don't think those stats are going to stay that way.

Im not so sure. The Wii has sold more units in 9 months then the xbox 360 has sold in 1 YEAR and 9 months,lol. thats gonna be a hard train to stop. The Wii is only going to get better games as most new systems don't hit their "stride" till at least 1 yr after their launch release.

Nintendo has been pretty good so far about taking it upon themselves to make games for the wii. If Nintendo was to keep this up, I don't think they'd really NEED 3rd party developers.

Of course, I don't think Nintendo wants to keep this up. I mean, if it doesn't get third party developers, I'm sure Nintendo will continue to make games for the Wii. But that doesn't mean they want to. It's more profitable for Nintendo to work on their next system, whatever it be.

I have no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will win the 7th generation. Take THAT sony. You closed Lik-Sang!

actually, nintendo probably doesn't develop 100% of any one game. marketing and promotion aside, they're likley to contract 3rd party developers to write up some modules of code (sort of like outsourcing).

this is also the case for other well known names (sony, ms, etc), where they also license the games rather then develop them. hence why you see lots of game logos when you turn on any game (kuju, hasbro, creative assembly, etc).

That's right; even the Super Smash Brawl isn't being done by them but the developer of the previous versions [Masahiro Sakurai (Sora Ltd.)].

If you read his website he mentions (or mentioned, I read it in the early days) that Nintendo announced SSB without having spoken to him about it.
