Do you have your PSP overclocked? Disable all m33 custom firmware options then restore PSP default settings.  If that doesn't work then maybe try downgrading to 1.5 again and then restore PSP default settings. I don't know if downgrading will help or not.

Perhaps there is something physically wrong with your PSP WiFi module?
