Supposedly Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails completely funded and organized his own tours for a while because Interscope had lost faith or something... I don't know how true this is, but it was the story going around at one point.

Makes me wonder sometimes what exactly it is the record companies do...

I just saw that Radioheads last album sold 300,000 and this In Rainbows album is up to 1.2 million. Not sure how much they have made though. Did read that about 500,000 copies were downloaded from places like The Piratebay.

Also don't forget 100% of the profit from this album, tour, and merchandise goes to Radiohead so I bet they have made more money from this 1 album than any other.
