I'm currently using v1.8 I've heard that if you skip some updates you can't use built-in emulators. Which versions should I update with before I go to the new 1.84 version? Also, I've heard that GBA compatibility gets worse with some updates. Anyone know anything about that?

yeah theres lots of posts on the forum regarding this ..

You must do the updates in order 1.63 > 1.7 then 1.7 > 1.80 then 1.80 > 1.81 > (1.82 for rumble owners) > 1.83 > 1.84 (that just came out today)
