Hello everybody,

I'm testing/tested several different videoformats on my DS and still I have some questions regarding converting/which is the best. Maybe somebody can summarize my questions, so other people (newbies) also have some detailed info. NOTE: I use a supercard CF with flashme V6.

I found several coders, are there any others?

Meteo                  only GBA.
Filmplay               only GBA.
DPG (moonshell)   only DS
Caiman Codec      only DS

Question regarding Caiman Codec:
I saw a trailer of "the spongebob movie" which looked very good. But is this codec still not in the open?

Question regarding DPG:
Then a other issue a have all the time. Which program can I use the get a
good mpeg for DPG. I don't mean the TMPGenc encoder program, because it does not accept many mpegs/avi I feed it. Is there a good freeware program which can decode these formats to mpegs which the DPG encoder always can read.

The demo vids were demos to sell the "high compression" codec to game studios    not open as far as I know.

caiman's is a commercial codec.  not available for end-user encoding.

It's a shame that Caiman's codec isn't open source. That encoding is great. It really looks fantastic.

But which program is good to prepare the mpegs for DPG (Moonshell). :?
A lot of mpegs are not accepted by TMPenc....

has anyone tried contacting Caiman and see if he'd be willing to release personal licenses for private use?

Moonshell is very good, and simple!
