the serial linker allows to reprogram the superpass to use it with the game you have or to program it as superpass1

The new superpass2 acts as both Superpass1 and 2, the linker allows you to reflash it to be any superpass you need.
If you have XX game, you can download it's jed files and flash it, now you have a passme2, if you have a NDS with old FW, you'll need to flash to superpass1 (althought superpass2 also works on old NDS)

Once an NDS is flashed, it's FW version becomes similar to V3, so no need for passme2 (even if the original firmware was v4+), also, since you already flashed, you don't need a superpass anymore, ven for flashing upgrades.
