i dont know the size... if you dont have a screwdriver, just use a pocket knife or something.  a glasses repair kit might work, too...

In my really old small screw driver set I use the '#0' one.

Head over to your local dollar store and pick up a cheap set of eyeglass screwdrivers.

I definitely would not advise using a pocket knife...unless you want to strip that screw and make it so that you will NEVER get the battery cover off again. I use a Craftsman mini Philipshead screwdriver. It is actually a Craftsman mini screwdriver set, with each screwdriver having a different color handle tip. You can get it at any Sears for like $20, and it includes something like 15 or 20 mini screwdrivers that have opened anything console wise for me. If not that, an eyeglass screwdriver will be too small. You just need a small (but not microscopic) philipshead. Go to Sears or Walmart...it's not some odd screwdriver you'll have a time to find.

well the pocket knife i used was fine.  it's not like the screw is not meant to come out.  it was easily removed without even seemingly the slightest chance of stripping... do whatever you want...

I used the tiny screwdriver that came with my sunglasses. Any glasses shop should have one.

Knives are not recommended, of course, but I use my Swiss Army knife every time & on every DS I've FlashMe-ed. I'm just careful not to turn/twist too hard.
