For NDS/GBA ROMs: Can I save normally in the game? Or do I have to do the real time save thingy?

For GBC games: How do I save games for GBC ROMs?

Carnivean

NDS:
1. Patch rom with correct patch to save to SD / CF etc.
2. Play game
3. Save as normal
4. Save is saved to SC
5. ?????
6. Profit!

GBA:
1. Patch GBA
2. Play game
3. Save as normal
4. Hit L+R+B+Select
5. Choose save
6. Save should be backed up
7. Repeat after every in game save
8. ?????
9. Profit!

GBC:
1. Never used them, Can't help here
2. ?????
3. Profit!

So... for the NDS and GBA ROMs... I can just save as normal, thats it right? I mean, saving via real time save is optional right?

By the way, thanks for the answer :)

Carnivean

Yes, the real time save is optional just hit L+R+A+Select in game to use it if you choose to (I recommend it for Zelda games :P)

Ok, I just realized, for GBA games you have to save in game and press L+R+A+Select. Question: Do you always have to do that to save?

Also, do you have to do that for NDS games?

How do you load a save after doing:
1)L+R+A+Select (normal)
2)L+R+B+Select (RTS)

Thanks all

Normal saves will work like normal and allow you to load them like a real GBA save. However, RTS requires you load it up as if you were saving.

K, Thanks for the help guys :)

But does anyone know how to save a Game Boy Color game?

Haoie

GBC, NES, and others, I remember they need some kind of special option.

Better to see the official SC site for that.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

for nes, gb, gbc

in the SC program's folder "SC" there is a NesSaveFile.sav. copy that save to the same folder as the nes, gb or gbc file you wish to save with and rename it to match the nes, gb, gbc "gamename".sav. then play the games normally and when you're ready to save to your game you press start+select+R+L to return to the sc menu, locate your save file and click it twice to save your game.

Thanks for the stuff once again guys, but I've already solved it. What I did was run the ROM in Visualboy Advance, save the game, copy the save file and put it into my Supercard in the same folder as my GBC game.

I can now save normally in-game. Thanks for the new info though!  :D
