I have a G6 Lite with DS Lite (it's flashed with flashme 7). It is a chinese version.

For some reason, any GBA game I try, I press L, R, B, A and it goes to the G6 Special Effects Menu. If I try to select Save, Save Backup 1, Save Backup 2, Restart, or Main menu (yes I am pressing A to confirm), it goes back to the game.

Any ideas? I have also tried reformatting the g6 lite (selecting FAT and not a quick format) but no luck.

Does the game have an icon in the GBA menu?
I found when I tested with a couple of games, the save only worked with one of the games I tested.
That was also the only game with an icon in the menu.

Phebios

Yes it does....if you are talking about the default g6 icon or the screen shot icon, some games have either or.

sneef

when you patched the GBA game with the G6 U-Disk manager software, did you select "real time" from the options?

Phebios

lol, of course I did

funny thing is, that real time save used to work until I sent my DS Lite to a guy that flashed it with flashme7 - maybe that has something do do with it

sneef

no.. shouldn't matter.  i was just checking because you'd be surprised how many people miss out something obvious like that.

anyway, I don't know.  It works fine on mine.

How does the G6 save DS games? You dont have to turn it off and on again do you?

sneef

Yes, it saves to battery-backed SRAM first, and then does a save backup the next time you reboot.

DisasteR

So if you didn't turn the DS back on for a while, the battery might run out and you lose the data from SRAM then?

sonicwind

no it wouldn't those batterys aren't THAT bad :P Don't worry just turn of the ds go someplace comeback and boot it on and itwill save.
