Personally I like the CF and SD versions because they come in 4Gb.  The more room for games, music, and pics, the better IMO.  1Gb was plenty for my GBA because the games are a lot smaller in size and the GBA couldn't play MP3s.  But with the music capabilities of the DS and the large size games I found that 1Gb or even 2Gb wasn't enough for me.

4Gb cards cut down dramatically the time I have to spend on my computer switching out games and music.  Plus I don't have to carry an extra flash card around with me.

I have an SCSD and it is annoying to have to remove the SC to get the SD out.  It was a very tight fit at first but now it's quite easy.

I own all of them and I think the miniSD is the best.  I never had any big problems with slow downs on it and it fits awsome.  the supercard lite isnt bad but I for some reason still like the miniSD better

i would have picked mini too if i ever had a ds.  Sadly i only have a lite and an scl :P

Quote from: "PharaohsVizier"Hmmm I guess this is a nice place to post my dilema.  I have a Supercard Mini SD, and I love it.  It is just that when I bring out my DSL, it just looks so weird with a purple thing sticking out.  I wanted to buy the Supercard Lite, then people are saying that it is a really tight fit, which I'm not that happy about.  Then I wanted the M3 Lite, but then saw that it saves weird, you have to save the next time you boot it up.  I have the necessary money, but after money is money and you can't get enough of it.  So my problem is, what should I do, stick with my SC MSD, get the SCL, or get the M3L?

Well, I say stick with what you have for now. We do not know what the highlights or shortcomings of the M3 Lite will be as it is not released yet, the SC Lite does have that problem of getting stuck...and if that irritates you I would wait for the SC team to fix it. They have already acknowledged the problem on their website. Again, it really is not a huge problem if you intend to keep the SC Lite in your system without removing it (it doesn't HAVE to be removed really..unless you are fequently using other adapters).

On another note, looks like the miniSD and Lite are tied 11-11. It's a shame the CF version got somewhat of a bad rap in the many reviews I have read. Many say it is made cheaply. I disagree. I bought one after reading one of those reviews and I was surprised to see that the cart felt just as sturdy as a regular GBA cart. The SD version always "creaked" for me. The plastic seemed just not put together that sturdily....and it wasn't a dud. I owned five of them and they all had that creaking syndrome. BUT, many of those reviews said the opposite, that the SD version was of better build quality. Go figure  :?

Mini pros
cheap price
*higher capacity/speed cards
MINI SD cards are cheaper
still small even in the Lite
battery backed SRAM

Lite pros
Just a little bit more than mini
standard cards perform well
even with standard cards its a little bit more expensive for the same size
sits flush in Lite

Id say mini just cus I am a huge penny pincher

I think I've read something about a version of SC Lite that does fit in the phat DS.  I would go for the SC Lite if possible. I'm sure 4GB cards will come soon enough.

Only one way it will fit in the old style DS. That is to crack the SC Lite open, and jam the PCB into the phat. and then perhaps use tweezers to get the microSD card deep into the DS's hole!  :)

This is another plus for the other cards. They work in:

ALL forms of the GBA (GBA/SP/Micro)
Gameboy Player through Gamecube (Big Screen SC!)
NDS Phat
NDS Lite

That is something I failed to add in my original post. And these things can be a MAJOR factor upon purchase. SC Lite is great *just* for the Lite, but if you want to pop it in elsewhere you are pretty much out of luck.

As for 4GB microSD cards? Think you'll have to wait and see if they ever release 2GB cards first :) I certainly have not seen any as of yet.

I wasn't suggesting dai_uk rip a SC Lite apart. 8) I thought I read something about SC Lite coming in a shell that fits phat DS.

BTW you can order a 2GB microSD from Verizon wireless for $99.

That would completely ruin the idea of the SC being a "Lite" version. Maybe they will release some sort of wacky adapter that would attach to a SC Lite to allow it to be plugged into a DS phat tho...but what would be the point. Or maybe the SC team will make a miniSD variant that takes microSD cards...yah never know.

Verizon is selling 2GB? That I was not aware of. But at $100, I think I will hold off on that one. If Verizon has their way, it'll be $250 for a 4GB. I have faith that Transcend will pull through...

No, I remember seeing a picture of a white supercard with an extended case and no lip.  I'll try to find the picture.

Verizon is just one source.  Check eBay.  Yes, 2GB microSD have been released since the 1st of August.  Catch up.  :)

zektor

Sure enough, you are correct sir. I have not kept up all that much on microSD media...as I never had the need for it previously. I'm just waiting around for the SC Super Lite, which is the size of a dime and takes media the size of finger nail slivers! :)

BTW, the card fits and works great in a Lite as well. Want to know how much it sticks out? Put a regular retail GBA game cart in the Lite. That is how much. So it is not like it is some sort of abnormal thing or something. I actually like the way it looks in the Lite personally. Like that funky clear purple plastic! Not to mention the fact that if I ever wanted to use it in a GBA/SP/Micro/Phat...well...I can!
