Your favorite Supercard?

what zektor said is so true, if you have a phat and then get a lite. The mini or SD is the way to go if you do not want to buy two cards.

I think I may have to change my mind on my thoughts of my favorite model....to the CF version. Here's why:

It is a SC device in which you can load the memory card without removal of the SC. This can also occur with the miniSD, but there's more.

There is NO battery in these devices. Now, this may be a downfall for many people, but not me. This to me just means that there wil never be a dead battery in one of these units come years down the road.

Performance. The CF versions are faster, period. The Castlevania intro is testament to this. Who knows what games in the future may exhibit slowdown on an SD, that will be ok on the CF. Maybe none...but then again....who knows.

CF cards are big. To me this is a plus rather than a negative. I am constantly removing cards to the reader and re-inserting...trying different programs. I love the miniSD, but to fiddle with an adapter every time (not to mention you have to use a fingernail to get the card to click out of the SC miniSD slot) seems like more work than it's worth. WIth the CF version, I just pull it out and plug it right into my current reader. Copy and pop it back it. It's big and easy to handle quickly.

No spring mechanism to mess up. The CF version has no spring load...this is a good thing to me. As we all know the spring mechanism is bound to mess up eventually. There are many testaments to this happening to spring loaded devices.

Yes, the CF version sticks out...alot. But I really don't care about that. If you remove the CF, the card sits flush in the DS...great to be able to store the DS (phat) in a case. Only time it is sticking out is when you are actually playing...and it really is not that bad. If you have a DS Lite on the other hand....well...it may not be so elegant! But for the phat user (me), it is just fine and dandy!

i only have the mini-SD version so it gets my vote  :D

haven't had any problems with it playing NDS or GBA roms. though GBA games take a bit to start-up

I've owned a CF and a Lite.  The CF I really loved for its homebrew compatibility, the Lite I love because of its incredibly small size and breakneck performance compared to other SD-based carts.

I voted for SC SD, it's the only one iv'e owned so far. At least for Supercard. You should have added other flash carts as well just to get different perspectives. I had an M3 CF which was really nice ... really nice and BIG!

Well, the title of this thread was your favorite SUPERCARD. I could have entitled it to "your favorite flashcart", but that is way too broad, and since this is a Supercard forum..well..it only makes sense.

And as for this poll being BS...that may be true. I automatically assumed that  more people have owned a few versions of the Supercard (I have been with SC from the start basically..having at one point or another owned and used them all) and these are the people this poll was most geared toward. I realize that you will have people that only own(ed) one model, and will vote for that one only... but I was still interested in seeing how it would play out.

Well I choose SD. Though miniSD is good for appearance sake but you need to have the adapter to write the games. As for CF, it sticks out a lot. So the SD is more or less much better for writing.
 love SC! :D

Having SCCF, SCSD, SCminisd, SCDS, M3CF, M3SD (the large one), M3minisd, G6 lite and gamebank128M

i have a ds lite as well as the scsd and sclite

never really had a problem with the sd sticking out unless it was in my pocket

the lite with the front loading is cool but i always worry i'm gonna somehow dislodge the TF. (that and the fact that TFs are expensive and tiny ass to handle) Too bad it didnt have a click in slot like the sd

but i'd chose the sclite in the end because I can just put my ds in my pocket without taking out the flashcard (thing fits so tight i wouldnt want to take it out anyways.. but then front loading so it wouldnt matter)
