OK time for stupid questions. When running wifi_lib_test.nds and choosing either wardriving or connedct to an AP what do the info given mean. For example I get WEP:on/off, but what does C?S or C+S or C-S etc.. and the channel (ch 6 or ch 1 etc..) mean.

What does wardriving do? Also when I try to connect to an AP that is a WEP off site I can never connect.

sorry in advance,

Vanit

I don't know what the C?S etc means but its mostly irrelevent for the purpose of the program. WEP uses 11 different channels as to stop interference in high density areas. Wardriving is when you drive around in your car scanning for wireless networks. To connect to an AP you'll need atleast 30% signal strength and for a full speed connection you'll need atleast 60% signal strength.

I learnt all this by messing with the program for fun, so I apologize if I'm slightly wrong in places.

vanit, thanks for the info.

Still looking to know what C?S or C+S or C-S mean.

edit: found this on official DS wifi forum.

QuoteC+/C?/C- are a way of determining whether an AP will work with your DS.

C+ means that the AP's base set only includes at most 1mbit and 2mbit...

C? means that the rate set is larger and that the DS has to spoof to get in...

C- means the rate set doesn't include 1-2mbit

The S is for Signal and not part of the C code thing.

What does this mean?
