Recently switched from R4 to SuperCard SDHC. Just a few questions.

At the moment, I miss my R4 for its simplicity. When I wanted to go to moonshell, all I had to do was touch the middle of the screen and I was there. Not as quick anymore :(

1.) Concerning skinning, I've found a lot of skins online, and I'm glad that I finally found out how to get them all to work. Only problem is at the moment that I can't seem to get rid of this text:

What happens is that the text will overlap the pictures, and so it just looks bad. Is there anyway to make the words disappear or something while it's on a particular skin?

2.) Is there any way to quickly go to and from moonshell, or must I click on it separately as in all .nds files?

3.) How do I soft reset out of moonshell? In the R4 all I had to do was press start. I set it up to do that in options, but whenever I press start in moonshell using the SC it just freezes at the console and says something like that function doesn't work.

4.) Why so many options :(? I guess that's good, but how/where can I find out what the options do?

5.) I don't understand how to work RTS at all. How to bring it up, how to set it, etc.

6.) It gives me the option to change the size of save files for DS games or something. What's the point of this?

7.) What do the different patches do?

8.) What is the MSFORSC.nds file for?

Thanks so much for any help.

1. yes go in the Language.ini & remove the menu names

QuotewnFileinfostr=File Information

menusaverstr=Saver <---- remove Saver
menuotherstr=Other <---- remove Other
menuoptionstr=Option <---- remove Option
menuhelpstr=Help <---- remove Help

menuunionstr=Enable GBA Union

2. yes you can install bliss's multi boot loader & have it boot with pressing Y when you boot up your NDS

3. isnt there a moonshell reset for supercard file? maybe look in the moonshell thread HERE

4. manual/dsone

5. read manual (link above)

6. its a old Feature thats not used anymore as all save are 512kb (4mb)

7. read manual (link above)

8. its the loader file

Thanks a lot. For some reason the Super Card's official forums are going really slow.

I just have a few more questions then at the moment.

1.) Where can I get Bliss's multi tool loader?

2.) I can't seem to find where this moonshell reset thing is for the supercard :(. But it appears that doing the standard L+R+A+B+X+Y soft reset works perfectly. Slightly more work than just pressing start, but I can live with it.

3.) With my R4 I had it set so that whenever I shut down or soft reseted from moonshell, the song I was playing would continue when I started it back up at that point. I have the setting set to this from within the moonshell menu, but for some reason it doesn't do this.

4.) Also with the R4, if I left the screen idle for a few moments in moonshell, a sort of screen saver would show up. Instead, on the SC, it's just going straight to shutting off both screens when idle.

5.) When I edit the language.ini file in the scshell folder, this works fine, but then it applies to all of my skins. Is there anyway to make it apply to only specific skins? For example, in on the the folders for the skin I have it has a language.ini file. I deleted the text ("saver", etc.) from these, but it still shows up.

6.) Whenever I change settings within the SuperCard menu, then turn off the system and boot it again, the settings seem to be lost. Skins seems to stay, but things like how the icons are displayed doesn't. Am I doing something wrong, or is this how it's supposed to be?

7.) What exactly is the Real Time Game guide? Does the game play for you or something? I'm confused.

8.) I'm not sure the extent that you might know this, but I'm just wondering, what major features does that SC One have over the R4?

dantheman

Regarding #6, there is a menu entry somewhere to save your settings, which you must do after changing the settings or else they will reset upon next bootup.

As for the features, it has several:  real-time save, real-time cheat menu (change your cheats from within the game), real-time game guide (consult a GameFAQs guide in the middle of playing your game), soft-reset from within homebrew, and slow-motion support (it's an extension of the cheat engine so it's not the most intuitive thing ever, but it works).

Where do I save the menu entry?

Also, how do I get the guide on the DS?

Thanks, and also, if someone could address the other problems I'd really appreciate it.

QuoteWhere do I save the menu entry?

other = save menu option

http://bliss.hanirc.org/blog/downloads

with bliss's multi-bootloader it was made to boot scdsone, dstt, & ysmenu
boot you can get it to boot anything as long as you dldi patch & rename the nds file
i boot scdsone, dstt & GBA_ExpLoader <------ renamed ysmenu to boot with the Y button

saf1

Thanks.

You posted the link to the supercar manual before
http://eng.supercard.cn/manual/dsone/

But all I can find on there is how to do those 4 major functions. I want to be able to find out what ALL the options in the supercard do. Where would I find that?

Also, if anyone could answer the other questions I posted, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm sorry, but all of that is really confusing to me.

1.) What's "ysmenu"?

2.) So say I wanted to make it boot moonshell when I hold Y while booting up. How do I do that?

Sorry, but I checked the readme, and it's throwing around really confusing phrases that I don't get at all. I know how to DLDI patch (I think, but I don't know about the rest of that stuff.

ysmenu = another rom launcher

download Blissy's multi tool loader,
rename MSFORSC.nds that is on ur MicroSD card to SCDSONE.nds
place the new MSFORSC.nds onto ur MicroSD card
then name the rom you want to load with the Y button (in your case the Moonshell NDS file) to ysmenu.nds

Place card backinto Supercard and test.

Hope thats clear

It's working, but then it messes up :(

It starts to load moonshell, but you know that error screen that shows up when you normally boot moonshell, but normally goes away after a second? Well it stays there, and the console on the top screen indicates something like it couldn't find Moonshell.

I could rar all my files, then send them too you if you'd like to try it out for yourself. Maybe I was supposed to patch something  :(

Also, when try to launch TT Menu, it doesn't work either. When I hold X it doesn't load up, and when I manually go to the file from within the SC menu, it loads to a screen that says "Menu?"

Thanks so much, and I feel like I'm so close to this.

Does moonshell load properly from the supercard normally?

Sounds like Moonshell needs to be DLDI patched (SuperCard loader does that automatically)

To DLDI patch visit, http://dldi.drunkencoders.com/index.php?title=Category:Tools and download a tool that is compatible with you operating system.

I assume you will have the SDHC version (ie the supercard is white and supports microSD card of 4GB or more), so you will need to download, the correct dldi here: http://dldi.drunkencoders.com/index.php?title=SuperCard_DS_(ONE)_SDHC if the program you downloaded doesn't already have it packaged in.

EDIT: if for some reason you have the old non SDHC version (ie normal black coloured cart) then use this dldi file: http://dldi.drunkencoders.com/index.php?title=SuperCard_DS_(ONE)

As I do not know which software you will use post back if you get stuck as each software is slightly different (from simple GUIs to right clicking the file and selecting DLDI patch)

Hope that helps

Steve

P.S. The .dldi file can also be found in the scshell folder as dldi.bin - but version 1 above is a better version so use that one and replace the dldi.bin in your scshell folder using the instructions on the site to benefit from the better FAT writing support.

saf1

So to be clear, I don't need to manually patch anything, right? I just replace the dldi file in my scshell folder and I should try it again? Since apparently the SDHC version auto patches. Is that correct? I think I've done this replace the dldi file before, but I guess it's worth a shot again.

Yes, moonshell is working normally, I just can't seem to get this to work. The console seems to be saying that it can't locate the moonshell folder, and I can't seem to get the TT menu to load up at all.

It doesn't change when adding the new dldi.bin file, and I tried DLDI patching moonshell with DLDI right click, but it's still not changing anything. I can't figure this  out. The error message is saying it can't locate the moonshl folder, but it's right there in the root.

I think it'd be best for me to zip and upload my entire card and maybe you could test it out for yourself since I have no clue what to do.

bumpy :(

Anyone know where I could go for help with bliss's tool?
