As long as I don't have 2mb save ds card (I've got only meteroid prime demo) I can't get this game save working. I mean it's VERY STRANGE:
1. I packed it with 2.431 soft (with sd game boot and sd saving).
2. I had packed Dual Strike in the same way and renamed its .sav file to "MarioKartDS.sav" and  puted it on mu sd with "MarioKartDS.dsq"
3. I made my own emblem and set the nickname and restarted NDS.
4. IT WORKED!!! Emblem and nick were still there. Algouth IT DIDN'T saved
my records(you know best laps, etc.)!!!

THIS IS REALLY STRANGE, ISN'T IT?

No idea Bagpuss why your router isnt working, I have a Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router and it picks up that no problems at all, Have you tried manually searching within the WI-FI settings?  See if it picks it up and works that way.

I have to say its great that it now fully works, saves all time trials, Wi-Fi Wins/Losses.  At least until hopefully the next patching software solves the problem saving to a 2mbit card such as Nintendogs works (without overwriting your dog data).

Now my wife has come home from work and playing Wi-FI on it....cannot get her off the darned thing, and she is not a games player.  THATS how good Mario Kart is.

Koji

Not really. It just means there is something unique about how mario kart saves that the patcher does incorrectly.

Now then why does it patch to save to a DS cart? Well, actually, I don't believe it does. It doesn't need to patch the game. The game is already programmed to save to the s-ram in the DS carts. In which case the super card patcher doesn't have to change anything at all.

Worked for me using the CF Save like some people said.

sneef

If you are an SD supercard user and you use the CF save, your race data will be saved, but try adding some friends to your friend list, and those won't save.  That's how it is for most of us.  The reverse is true if you use the SD save.  Unless you are just special, davhuit

my nintendogs cart works great as a save cart though.

davhuit

I dun play it online, so yeah you have to read "it works for solo mode".

Hmm,

im using SC SD, and mario kart runs, but gives the error of corrupt data....yet it doesnt seem to make any odds apart from the message as all my data is in there perfectly.
Turned the thing on and off several times and nothing gets erased.
All my wifi settings store fine too, however i also cant even see my linksys wireless modem router which is annoying as hell!!!
isit DS-play.com for live chat, friend code exchange, tournaments and forums on all wifi enabled games.

Can someone pm me a link to the prepatched version?  I cant seem to get a normal one to work and save right.

The patched versions are the EXACT same as what you get when you use the CF or SD patcher. The only difference is the saves... and all the saves are is someone saved to a DS card, then dumped the DS card saved and used that to save to the supercard.

I just can't get it working :/
I patch the rom eith the newest patcher but save is corrupted...
i patch the rom but use this ACME.nds.sav Save file (i rename it)
-> Doesn't work :(
What can I do?

I've the SD version
00t !!?

Mario Kart with the current patcher will NEVER work right with the save file either the one provided in the pre-patched version or if you create one yourself with the current SCZ 2.431 patcher.

As posted yesterday, the only way to get Mario Kart running correctly is to apply the saver patch to run off the DS card instead of patching it to run of SD, and utilising any cartridge that has a 2mb flash save (Nintendogs, Madden NFL 2005/6, Splinter Cell, Advance Wars) to name a few, honestly it is pointless trying to get a save file to work on the SD card, the current patcher just doesnt do a correct job.

Providing you have one of the above carts (I use Nintendogs) it saves fine to the card and everything runs as intended.

If you don't have any 2mb flash carts then either u have to not worry about the saves or WI-FI corrupting the save file, buy the game or wait until there is a successful patcher that enables a successful save to SD.

00t !!?

im using the european version of mario kart ds, and so far it saves and loads perfect, and ive tried loading it several times.

sneef

a dump of the european cart?  hmmm.. i'll have to look for that...

Why is it that it works so well on the CF version and not the SD?

whats the big diff in what kind of memory card type - arent they basically the same thing?

do they have the prob on M3 player?

are they trying to get rid of a surplus of CF versions?
