Failed upgrade to firmware V1.85

Hi All,

I'm really hoping somebody can help me.
I recently attempted to upgrade to firmware V1.85, and I'm not really sure what happened, but now my DS wont display the menu.
I get a white screen on top, and the supercard logo on the bottom screen.

After searching for possible solutions, it appeared that the only way out of this was to find two files from an older firmware (1.63), UPGRADE.SCU and SCFONT.FON, which would force an update upon booting. Everything seemed to be ok, was prompted to update, I did, then it got worse. Now the two screens load up all scrambled.

Can somebody please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you in advance!

when you say scrambled, does it look like the menu and files are in another language? See my thread here:

No one was able to get an answer, and Deal Extreme has agreed to replace it. But if yours has done the same thing then that is the 5th one to do so.

In my opinion I think there is a bad batch out there. And is not responding well to firmware updates. As mine went worse afterwards also. Except mine went dead, from being garbled.

I am hoping to get my new one soon. I shipped out the broken one a week and a half ago.

Yaz, I seem to remember this happening to me at one point.  Is it maybe red or pink or something and blocky?  I wish I could tell you how I got it back to normal, but I know I got it back pretty easily.  I was able to upgrade again while it was all funky and it cleared it up.  Sorry to not have more specific help.
