Version 1.11 update

Quote from: sorg;590951This my tweaks for USB loader:

1) shows list of 21 entries instead 6.
2) more adequate navigating by left and right keys.
3) Doesn't attempt to switch TV mode before load game (uses default TV mode instead). Original loader tries to switch TV mode according to game region which makes PAL games unplayable on TV not supporting PAL modes (NTSC-U/J Wii) and NTSC games on TV not supporting NTSC modes (PAL Wii). Now i can play Mario Kart PAL and Wii Chess PAL on my NTSC-U Wii!

-----------------------------
Update v1.01:

1) added simple version of loader without adding/deleting games and format drive. Useful for children/some pleople.
2) Sorting now is case insensitive.

-----------------------------
Update v1.02:
1) simple version will start selected game without confirmation
2) some little cosmetic tweaks
3) loader will wait for USB device at start if it not plugged or not ready

-----------------------------
Update v1.11:
1) games now can be marked as deleted instead actual remove. I made this feature because of bug in WBFS (i couldn't find where it is exactly). If you will remove games and add new one then some of previously uploaded games will become corrupted. So, if you will just mark game as deleted, it will disappear from list, but still will occupy space. It will prevent corruption. With big HDD, this is not a big problem.
2) added options for Video mode setting. It can be "System Default", "Game Default" or "Patch Game (force system default mode for import games)". Some PAL games not working before (Naruto Rev2, Gravity), now are working on my NTSC Wii with 3rd video mode.
3) added option to patch Language. (Make sure that game really has this language).
4) these two options will be saved in HDD along with game. SD card is not required. Settings can be changed only in Full version of loader. Simple version will use these settings but won't able to change.
5) if loader has been started from HBC, then it will return to HBC through button "Home". Otherwise will return to Wii Menu.
6) Source code has been redesigned very much. I made attempt to convert "basic" code to object code. Also, converted from C to C++ for easier programming ;)  I've took some code from SoftChip repository as better implementation of some functions.
7) not important, but loader now can be operated by NGC controller as well.
8) changed graphics in simple version
9) Fixed channel graphics. No more "????" in channel options. 2 versions included for screens 16x9 and 4x3 (to make disk picture circle).

archive includes:
1) source code with my modifications
2) folder to use in Homebrew Channel (full and simple)
3) Channel version of this loader in WAD format (full and simple, 16x9 and 4x3).

P.S: I know there are some versions are floating around with ocarina patch engine and covers. Even based on my mod ;)
But i don't think it's worth to have. Especially, both features required SD card presence.
Anyway, i've provided full source code. If somebody want to change it then go on. Just let me know as you release your mod.

I've used this background (modified from one of available versions):

This banner used for channel:

BTW, was going to try out but my daughter has a friend staying over the weekend so i do not want to mess it up and have to listen them complain about a dead wii. So i have to wait until wednesday to try out.  :'(

There's also a 1.2 come out from W. More at Wiinewz.

fexo

Well, I finally summonded up the courage to tackle this yesterday (public holiday in the UK). I downgraded from 3.2E from 3.4E as I could not get it to work.

Very impressed! The hard drive was recognised straight away and, as they say the loading times are great!

Now to find the best GUI.

jmr

theres a few on googlecode but i use this GUI

fexo

yes, I've just found this and downloaded the box art as well. I'll try it tonight.

I haven't tried this yet even though i was going to. ATM, there isn't a need for it, i guess i will wait it out for a month or two and then give it a go. Hopefully all the issues will be worked (not that i know of any) out along with a great gui.

Thought these might help those in need. I haven't tried them out, so use at your own risk (but most have been out for a while now). Most info from source or wiinewz.

Waninkoko SD/USB Loader v1.5

Quote
Changes

- Corrected bug when installing games to partitions above 512GB.
- Corrected bug when mounting devices.
- Corrected bug that would not load Excite Truck (the game cannot be loaded from SD because it needs to access music).
- Improved the speed of installation.
- Several Adjustments and optimizations.

WBFS Manager 3.0

The final release of WBFS Manager is now available here at codeplex. The source code is also now available at the same location (It would be much appreciated if any derivative work retained the donation links and references to the main download site on CodePlex).

This will be the last major release of WBFS Manager, at least for the next few months. I will make any quick fixes that may be necessary but will be discontinuing active work on the project.

QuoteChanges (3.0):
Added Channel Creation support. (Disabled by default, to enable go to Options->Channel Creation and Enable. Follow the instructions provided below.)
Added "Large Cover View"s, which are two side panels that display the cover for the currently selected item.
Added the option to save different partitions of the Wii disc when adding the disc to the WBFS drive. (Options menu, Advanced tab, "Partiitons to Keep").
Added Automatically Check for Updates option (Requires Internet access, can be disabled).
Added the option to cancel batch operations (cancellation occurs as soon as the current item is finished).
Added drive status indicator under the left-hand list, blue shows amount of used space, green shows amount of used space after adding all entries from the "Games To Add" list.
Added Help menu option.
Added direct drive-to-drive copying for drive's with similar sector sizes. Drive-To-Drive copying will now first check if it's possible to do direct copying, if not it will revert to indirect copying.

Fixes (3.0):
Now automatically requests to Run as Administrator.
Fixed the estimated size being wrong for some games.
Fixed an issue with CSV files being exported incorrectly sometimes.
Save expander states, so the user doesn't have to keep re-opening them each time.
Fixed Homebrew Channel creation. (Now using WiiCrazy's USB Loader DOL instead of Yal).
Fixed an issue with the "Estimated Total Size" not updating correctly when games were removed from the right-hand list.
Now checks the filesystem type of a drive before loading to make sure it's not NTFS, FAT or ext.
Fixed an issue with games with ":" or other special characters causing issues during batch extraction.
Fixed issue with game regions showing up incorrectly in initial 2.5 release.
Fixed issue with RAR files in subfolders not being detected during drag and drop operations.
Removed thousandth of a seconds from elapsed time in progress bar.
Fixed mislabled blocks status (was Blocks Used, should be Blocks Free).
Fixed some other minor issues.
Changed installer (now prompts for .NET 3.5 SP1 before installing, also gives options for installing langauges, etc).

Channel Creation notes:

WARNING:
Exercise caution when using any channel files from any source as they may result in a banner brick. It’s recommended that you have preloader or some other form of banner brick protection on your Wii before using custom Channels. It’s much safer to use Hombrew Channel entries (which have been fixed in this version). Only create System Menu channels if you know what your doing!

I will not be held responsible for any damage caused to your console as a result of channel creation (or any other use of this software).

Instructions
To enable channel creation, go to Edit->Options and click on the Channel Creation tab. Then specify the base WAD file that you want to use, the location of the common-key.bin file, as well as the loader that you want to use. Click OK to confirm the changes.
Once channel creation has been enabled, you can choose one or more entries on the Games To Add list then click "Create Channels" (or right click and choose "Create Channels").
If you choose multiple entries, you will be asked to choose a folder to save the WAD files in and a batch creation process will begin.
If you choose a single entry, you will be prompted for the 4 letter Channel ID you want to use and where you want to save the file.
Be careful with the Channel IDs you choose, if you have an existing channel with the same ID, it will be overwritten when you install the channel.
If you want, you can specify a USB loader DOL file other than the packaged presets. To do this, fill in the "USB Loader DOL File" setting with the DOL file you want to use, then type in the placeholder title ID in the "Title ID Placeholder" field, then click OK to confirm the changes.
A base WAD is not included with this application, you must supply your own. It is best to use a WAD file that belongs to a channel and one that is the same region as your console.
The common-key.bin file is not included with this application, you must supply the common-key.bin file.
Requirements
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (the installer will prompt you to automatically download and install it if you don't already have it.)

Supported Operating Systems
Windows Vista (tested thoroughly. May need to "Run as Administrator" depending on user's settings and UAC settings).
Windows 7 (tested and working. May need to "Run as Administrator" depending on user's settings and UAC settings).
Windows XP (tested by a few other users, should work fine.)

Waninkoko Firmware Updater 4.0

For those who haven't already made the mistake of updating to 4.0, Waninkoko has released an updater that will install only the necessary components of the firmware while retaining the functionality of older versions.

As always, it is possible to brick your console installing this and there is no guarantee that it's will be compatible with future updates.

Also be aware that that this still will not allow you to use preloader, Starfall, cIOSCORP, or the various softmod packages available. They are dead as of this firmware update.

Quote[ DESCRIPTION ]:

- This application allows you to update your console's firmware installing only the needed applications (IOS, System Menu, channels...).

Thanks to it you can keep some features like Trucha bug that affected first IOS versions.

[ REQUISITES ]:

- 150-250 free blocks.
- Internet connection.

[ HOW TO USE ]:

- Run the application with any method to load homebrew and the update will be done automatically.

Waninkoko Firmware Downgrader v1.11
Quote
[ DESCRIPTION ]:

- This application allows you to downgrade your Wii firmware to any
available version on the Nintendo servers.

Also, it allows you to change the Wii console region, to match the
new installed firmware region, and the Wii Shop country code.

[ NOTES ]:

- If you install a firmware from a different region without changing
the console region, you will get a semibrick.

I recommend changing the console region to match the firmware
region and avoid future problems.

[ REQUISITES ]:

- Custom IOS37 rev 03 or higher.
- Internet connection.

[ HOW TO USE ]:

- Run the application and select the firmware to install.

Waninkoko Custom IOS36 rev 10

This IOS has been created to be used ONLY with homemade software.

The Custom IOS installs as IOS249 and does not modify any other IOS so it is safe to install.

Changelog:

- Changes in several DIP plug.
- Added module SDHC (thanks for the help WiiGator).

Here's a really nice looking interface; it shows the covers in either 2D or 3D instead of having lists/covers.

You can download everything from here.
