Well I bought a passme from dspassme.com and the wonderful little thing doesn't seem to work. I've spent a few hours looking for a solution to the problem, but nobody seems to know!

I put the passme in the correct way (it doesn't click in, according to dsdev it isnt supposed to!), put a bunch of different games in the top, turned the thing on and nothing happens, just the normal bootup screen and it cant detect any DS games.

What's going on? What could be wrong? The DSDEV guys are convinced that there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with passme, so what am I doing wrong!

PS I bought the DS in feburary, so the firmware isn't the issue.

Uh, did you put a game in the passme?

What

Of course.

If the passme is in all the way and you get a normal boot, the passme is bad and return it for one that works.

Heh, first time I overlooked your post; thought you only put something in the gba slot

Well, as for clicking in, my Superpass DOES click in....but again that is not a passme. Maybe you are not inserting it all of the way? Even if you have new firmware, you would get two white screens most likely if the passme was functional.

Nah, it's not supposed to click in. I've given up and hopefully this wonderful vender will give me my money back while a good friend of mine sends me his superpass (plastic!). I was mostly just upset because I'm impatient! But everything is okay now.

Hmm, update.

I just tested my passme2 (which is essentially a reprogrammed passme) and you are right, it does not click. BUT, it also does the same thing as what you are saying. It just acts like nothing is inserted into the DS and goes into the DS menu.

Then I ran the usual method of booting pepsiman's passme2buttonwait, then popping in the passme2 with my metroid demo, quick off/on, and bam..into DS mode I go.

Are you sure you didn't order a passme2?

Positive (says 1.5 right on the chip), but since I have nothing else to do I'll try that buttonpress thingus anyway.

Update: As expected, that accomplished nothing.

Hardware is identical on PassMe 1 and 2; the difference is the programming the unit contains.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Gosh. Well I ordered a passme, I don't see why it would be a passme2. I'll fully follow the procedure required for the passme2 and see what happens.

Update: nothing happens!

I'm getting a blank screen with my passme2 and Zookeeper.  I downloaded pepsiman's software and ran it from the card, and chose the second entry because the first said it cannot be used with passme2, and then inserted the passme2 with zookeeper, on/off, blank screens :(

Well I just finished talking to Lynx about it and he said he'd take it back and test it, and if it didn't work he'd send me a new one. Apparently I'm the only person it just plain hasn't worked for, oh boy!

I'm glad he'll take it back, but if it does work for him then well I'm pretty much screwed. But Lynx is a good guy and I'm glad he helped me out.
