Files needed to play Monkey Island 2 are MONKEY2.000 and MONKEY2.001.
But I seem to have midi sounds.
Does anyone know if audio files exists for MI2 the same way that MI1, and if I can an use the same method to have better sound ?
Thanks !

yeah.. the monkey island I have included .ogg audio files which i had no problem converting to adpcm (or whichever codec scummvm DS uses)

but the monkey island 2 which I have only included midi tracks..  I'm searching too.  Keep you posted.  not sure if monkey island 2 only used the roland mt-32 midi, or whether I just haven't found the right version.

okie... I must be doing something wrong...

I'm using the newest ScummVM, and just copied the renamed game file to my microSD.  and I also copied the save file (64kb) to the same folder I put scumm VM in

it works all good and well, EXCEPT IT WONT SAVE.  man.  I'm depressed.  I play Monkey Island 2 for like 3 hours, and lost my save data.

I tried QPC and saving as you would with GBA games, but it didn't work at all...  any help guys?

Umm... I'm not very good at tutorials/explaining, but you can find the free 'Flight of the Amazon Queen' at the official ScummVM site (I'd recommend the uncompressed version if you have the space, mp3 creates slowdown), and the queen.tbl file below it.  Beneath a Steel Sky is there too, but I haven't used it.  Put these on the same folder on your card, and select it from the 'Add game' menu, double clicking the folder so you are inside it before selecting choose.

As for getting the thing to run in the first place, there's a pretty good tutorial on the official page.  Download v.061 (because it's stable) and you'll have 4 files.  Only the ds.gba files work on the Supercard, and you'll want the 'b' version if you're playing flight of the amazon queen, and you'll need the 'moonshell patcher' thingy to make it work on a lite, which you can find on the download page of his very website.  Hopefully that's clear enough.

If you want any other games, you'll have to go illegal or find a CD of it, which won't cost much.

It was great. DS is great to revive these point-n-click adventure games.

Now, after viewing Pirates of the Carrib' 2 -and about Ron Gilbert attacking the movie makers- I'm planning on playing the Monkey 1&2 games.

Files needed to play The Secret of Monkey Island are MONKEY1.000 and MONKEY1.001.
Here comes the sound problem again.
I managed to find .mp3 files of the musics of MI1, and had hard time converting them into ima-adpcm 4-bit mono .wav files for scummvmDS to play them.
I used GoldWave 5.13 to do that.
Works like a charm now.

I may be misunderstanding the problem here as I haven't tried to use scummds myself, but if you have the actual midi files for monkey island 2, you could run them through a high-quality midi soundbank (usually an external device, though there are software versions available, of varying quality) to create some reasonable quality wav files. They could then be formatted to 4-bit mono wav using goldwave or something similiar.  If that's what you need I'll find you some more info.

You realise how horrible 4bit wav's are?  I'd use an mp3 if scummvmds supports it (which it does I think) which would probably be smaller and sound lounds nicer.  My maths might be wonky, but 4 bits (2^4) only gives you 64 different ways to refer to how loud a sound is.  You'd be much better off changing the sample rate, which is how often it samples the data.  There's some other maths behind it, but to be able to playback a 1kHz tone, you'll need to sample at at least 2kHz.  Our hearing only goes up to around 40Hz-20kHz, so that's why CD audio is set to 44kHz.

hm... i see that info "Supercard Lite users: It has been reported that ScummVM works fine on the Supercard Lite after being patched with the Moonshell SC Lite patcher. Download it from here."

but if i click on "here" i got on this page and see this --> Click me

software... firmware... i'm confused. where is this patcher? is it in one of the archives?

They could be talking about the "Moonshell Reset for Supercard Lite" download thing.
QuoteNOTE: Because SuperCard Lite use High Speed tech. So moonshell software "_BOOT_MP_SC.nds" need to be patch by "patch moomshell for super"

SOFTWARE for MoonShell: MoonShell Reset for SC (2006.08.03)

yeah, but this moonshel reset thing... it resets the DS. so how should i use it with that scummVM ?
