I wouldn't worry about it too much.  The DS seems pretty solid.  You should consider lightening up on the iron grip though. =)

Nintendo has good warranty service; they pay for shipping both ways if you are really concerned.

If your having a problem with buttons sticking for any reason, you may want to try buying a tool and opening it up to clean any dust, beer/soda residue etc.  The reason I'm suggesting this is if your DS is flashed you won't be able to take advantage of nintendo's warranty service.  It's also much less of a pain.  Good luck
