Monkey Island (or any other SCUMM titles) on GBA?

This is more to test the water and see how many other like-minded people are out there, than to find a solution (as I've been googling to hell and back for about an hour to find one myself!)

Basically I was on a quest to find a SCUMM interpreter for the GBA which will allow me to play The Secret of Monkey Island on my GBA (a dream come true!)

Sadly, it does not appear that anyone has attempted the project, but I'd be interested to hear some thoughts on this (from developers and non-developers alike).

Thankfully my searching led me to Brian Provinciano's GBAGI interpreter for the Sierra adventure games, so I can make do with the Leisure Suit Larry series (for now...) :D

Very unlikely, near impossible.

The specs of the GBA don't allow for it (RAM is the killer - 256k).

It might be possible to port or otherwise re-code the games (Broken Sword used a variant of the SCUMM engine, and is quite playable on the GBA,) but running SCUMVM is not likely.  I have a Tapwave Zodiac (12 megabytes heap RAM) even that isn't enough to run all the SCUMM games smoothly :|

Remember that in the AGI days, PC's didn't have much RAM - I think KQ3 needed 256K or maybe only 128K of RAM!  Hell, it ran on a PC Jr!   (64k RAM!)  My first PC had and 8086 + 8087 and 640K of RAM, and an EGA card.  It ran KQ3, Hero's Quest 1, and tons of great games.  But it wouldn't have run Monkey Island 2.   Probably would have done MI1 (Secret Of Monkey Island) okay, but only with AdLib sound :)

Anyone fancy writing an AGI version of MI? :D

BTW, I can confirm that Secret of Monkey Island runs on an 8086 with wonderful PC-speaker sound ;)
