Your save file may also be bad.  Have you tried using another?  The "NesFileName.sav" save file in the Supercard folder, for example?

RTS saves are entirely different from normal saves.

Ah!  Thanks!  I was using save.sav, not NesFileName.sav.  Works great now!  Could you mention that in the faq specifically?  It's obvious now, but I didn't see it before.

It's not that you need to use the "NesFileName.sav" save file, but that your copy of "save.sav" is somehow corrupt.

Aside from saves I imported from VBA, I, personally, have only used the "save.sav" file for all of my ROMs (GBA or otherwise) that I play on my Supercard, and I've encountered no problems.

Also, if the "NesFileName.sav" did not work for you either, you could use a .sav file that is created when you patch a GBA game in the Supercard patching software with the option "Enable Save" selected.  Just copy the output .sav file to the same folder as your emulated ROM, and rename it appropriately.

Is there an easy way to generate these blank saves?  I've got quite a few NES games and I'd like to be able to save them whenever I play but copying+renaming the blank save by hand would take forever
