sorry for the repetitive topic but i have been reading the forum and searching for a couple of days to try and solve my problem but nothing seems to address it exactly.

i am having mixed results with my supercard and superpass2.
just flashed my DS today.
i have the latest firmware.

my supercard came with some nds games on it, all of which work. (this includes mario64, kirby, touch golf, meteos)

the problems come when i try and put on my own roms.

i have been using two patchers, the latest 2.51 and also 2.44.

got electroplankton and wario touched to work with 2.44.
sonic rush worked with 2.51 but ended up crashing after the first zone, once you get to select characters.

nintendogs (lab and friends) wont work with 2.51 or 2.44.
with 2.51 i get white screens after the hal labs screen.
with 2.44 i get white screens after you knock on the kennel door.

got trauma center to work, but only with the rom position being as supercard.
i am guessing this wont work for nintendogs as it is too big.
plus this makes the game load so slowly...

edit: just found out that trauma center doesnt really work too well either. after 3 operations, just before you meet the new nurse it just goes to black screens and the music carrys on.

i am very confused!

What firmware versions are you at for both the NDS and the Supercard itself?  The latest for the SC is 1.6, I believe.

Rule of thumb:

Check to see if you have the latest firmware (v1.60) and latest patching software (v2.51). The games you mentioned work perfectly with this combination.
Nintendo DSi
Nintendo Wii - cIOS38 Revision 12 (and more)
Madden PSP Slim v5.00 M33-6

mrpeach

i have 1.60, flashme v6, and the 2.51 patcher.

i just cant work out what i am doing wrong.

i have tried changing the patcher options.
i turn off all the options under "game default set"
have tried with restart and trim both on and off.

Try defragging or reformatting your SD/CF card

mrpeach

i tried reformatting but now things are even more confusing!

gb/gba/nes games all still work, and i have put them back in their usual folders.

but now nds games only work if i put them in the root folder. if i put them back on thr SD in the NDS GAMES folder they were in pre format, they just dont appear when you look for them while using supercard.

oh, and games that didnt work before still dont work, like trauma center and nintendogs.

mrpeach

can some give me a step by step of what to do after formatting?

files seem to work (as least as well as before) if they are just placed straight on the SD card.
but nothing seems to be recognised if it is placed in folders.

mrpeach

sorry to bump this, but i really need some help here.

i have used both a win2000 and xp computer to format the SD card, does this make any difference?

Make sure you're formatting it as FAT (Not FAT32)

It sounds like your SD/CF card might have issues. I would suggest formatting then run chkdsk on it ( chkdsk is a command line thing - gives more info eg number of bad blocks etc ) Place 1 newly patched DS game onto the root of the card - see if that works... I don't really follow what you're saying about directories? you can browse into them but there is nothing there? that can't be right...  try removing all of the gba/old stuff and just put DS games onto it for now - remember FAT16 is has a limited number of dirs / files per dir - it could be related to that...

someone_Else

Directory listing has a limitation of 64 files.

mrpeach

games work if they are placed in the root directory.

folders (and the files within) dont appear at all when the SD card is placed in the supercard. yet they can be seen when the card is in my card reader.

i had 5 main folders (with 50 plus sub folders) before i formatted but maybe the card was fat32 pre format.

also, formatting didnt solve the problems i have been having with games i patched myself.

it is weird that the games that came on the card work(the guy i bought my supercard and SD off puts nds and gba games on the SDs he sends)  yet ones i put on dont.

mrpeach

sorry to keep bumping this but i am really stumped.

does it seem likely that there is something wrong with my SD card?
the supercard is ok, i did the diagnostic check.

mrpeach

can anyone give me even a slight idea where i am going wrong...

is it because i am formatting my sd card with a win2000 laptop?
are my roms all crap? (they seem to be comparible to the ones everyone else has.
should i be experimenting with way more weird patching option combinations?
what did the guy who sold me the supercard with sd do with the roms he installed that i cant do with the ones i put on?

why has everything gone completely tits up since i formatted?

damn!
