ok i am planning on getting a black ds (my silver one just looks UGLY)

i was wondering what firmware do you think it has so i can either flash it with wifime or if i need to perchase a superpass 2?


if any one here lives in washington would they be willing to flash it if they have a superpass2 or passme2 or whatever it is i need to flash a new FW ds  western washington

i doubt it!
besides in other forums i have read that the back of the jap ds's dont have that thin plastic coat over the serial number wich rubs off VERY easy.
my plastic rubbed off and had to call nintendo to ask them for the serial that i had registered with them...

if they do come out with a metroid one i'll prolly get that as i would be buying the ds from lik-sang from money i am getting from selling my car and the guy who wants it doesnt know exactly when he is going to buy it so ya i might have to wait till march anyway...

Actually, I'd be concerned about Nintendo changing the DS or DS firmware to stop homebrew/flashme/ROM use ...

It seems odd to me that Nintendo would allow all of Japan to be TOTALLY OUT OF STOCK on ALL DSs for more than a month, if they didn't have something up their sleeves. Maybe some firmware or hardware modifications that required more testing/tweaking than they had anticipated. I just had a friend in the States pick up a couple DSs for me, because there are NONE at all here in Japan, and he said that Best Buy was out of stock, and Walmart only had three. So it looks like supplies are running low in the States now, too - I may be way off base here, but I suspect Nintendo is working on something to prevent people from using Supercards and M3s to run DS ROMs.

Point being, I would buy now if I were you. Who knows what the new DSs will be like ...

ya that prolly true that they gonna upgrade firmware AGAIN and make a few hardware changes so flash cards WONT work in them at all that would REALLLLLLLYYYY suck ass...
