that didn't work Johnny, but thanks for the help. I'm just going to send it to bitbit and get it fixed by a pro instead of a DS noob (not you Johnny or anyone else,I'm talking about me)

i got it to work. It turns out that if you semi-brick a DSlite ezflashV isn't readable, but i used my friends superkey and passkey and flashed my DS fine.

Would you be willing to some other repair? I have problems with my shoulder buttons (2nd DSLite like this)...I really don't want to buy another one and risk it happening a 3rd time. Supposably it has to do with the springs becoming mis-aligned.

If not, I understand since it wasn't it your list.

Hey wondering if can pick your brain for a sec. Okay, Ive got a Supercard SD and its been working great, anyway I 've been playing Pokemon Fire Red and installed a game shark sav from Gamefaqs that had all kinds of shinys and stuff bout a day or so after that everytime I try and do the l+R+A+select or whatever the saving thing is where the screen is black and has the please wait with a % underneath it til it reaches a 100%. All I see is the please wait the % is not there Ive tried every sav method there is for Supercard even the QPC method which did work for bout a day, or that or am not doing it fast enough which seems unlikely. I tried the recovery program where you use a Slot 1 to reset the firmware and it reset it back to 1.52 so I upgrade to the 1.85 and my games work again but still the saving doesn't.  Do you have any ideas what so ever as to how to fix this.   Really wanna get this fixed if possible, otherwise gonna have to either get anotehr Supercard or a EZFlash IV not sure which wanna go with.  Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

Yeah Supercard isn't the best card for GBA games. :P However Supercard SD works great for DS games and homebrew.  I'm not sure why L+R+START+SELECT isn't working for you.  Try using firmware 1.7 and patcher software 2.58 instead. Try with a different GBA game to see if that works. Also check this out . . .

Alright! I'll await your report soon!  :)

Hi Andy. As you can see from this picture your pink DS lite is working fine now. Enjoy!  ;)

Hello everyone! Just wanted to stop by and say how much of a good job bitblt did to repair my DS Lite (which should be that Pink one with the black buttons above... at least I hope its up there somewhere). Works like a charm, and it only cost me $15 plus shipping (which isn't that expensive with insurance). If you're worried about burning your DS with a soldering tool, look no further and give bitblt a pm!

Another little tibit: Hes a really patient fellow! I contacted him about fixing my DS around the beginning of May, and didn't send it in til the end of July XD! Whatever the circumstance, I'm sure he'll work with you as much as he can (he also offered me some tri-wing screws because most of mine became stripped, but they only fit the DS Phat, so he couldn't use them. Its the thought that counts!  :) )

QuoteMy son has a ds lite that  think has a bad fuse. It will not power on and when pluged into the charger the light flashes half a second and goes off. I am interested in sending it to you for repair.

As you can see your sons black DS lite is working fine now. I will send the DS back Monday. Enjoy!  :)

Hey bitblt,
I was wondering if you possibly work on PS2 systems? I have a PS2 scph-30001 that freezes during gameplay. I've tryed cleaning laser, etc. If not, do you know of a reputable place I could get help from?
Thanks,
Tim

I don't have experience fixing PS2 systems. I've never used PS2 repair service before so I can't recommend anyone. I found this place with a google search but I've never used them . . .

Hey didn't know you repaired DS's too. The microphone in my DS phat no longer works and there are certain games I can't play like Zelda because of it. How much would you charge to repair or replace it??

@754boy
did you not get the mic i posted to you??

Actually, I normally only fix DS problems with blown fuses or botched flashme installs. I don't have extra parts on hand to fix other kinds of problems. However since you are a long time member here I will have a look at yours if you want. Do you have a replacement mic?

bitblt

This question has been asked by several different people in the last few months . . .

QUESTION:
If I purchase some DS fuses will you replace the fuse rather than bridge the fuse with solder and wire?

ANSWER:
No. You need to understand that DS fuses are micro SMDs (Surface Mount Devices) that are extremely small and soldered to the mainboard by a special manufacturing process, not soldered by hand. It takes a steady hand and patience just to bridge the fuse with some solder and wire.  I would be taking a big risk trying to properly remove the old fuse and solder down each end of the new fuse without getting solder on nearby electronics. I'm just not that skilled and don't want to mess up your DS.

As far as the fuse not being replaced I personally don't think it's a big deal.  I have intentionally shorted circuited a phat DS with a bridged fuse to see what would happen and it didn't cause damage.  I believe Nintendo put the fuse there to prevent the possibility of the battery bursting in the event of a prolonged short circuit.
