NDSL firmware recovery service:

For a limited time I will offer NDSL "brick" firmware recovery service to SCdev.org members only. Firmware recovery will be done using the BIOS swap trick.  I have several NDSLs so there is no way I can go wrong.  Recovery service will include:

1) fuses F1 & F2 will be checked
2) NDSL firmware will be recovered
3) firmware will be upgraded to Flashme v7 lite.

I think if people study the DSlite pictures, and look thoroughly inside the SL1 hole with plenty of light, they will better understand the problem. I guess people get so excited (or nervous) to flash their DS they just poke around blindly with tin foil or whatnot?  Maybe some of the confusion is SL1 looks like a flathead screw.  It's not a screw it's two contact pads.  All that needs to be done is bridge the two contact pads and stay near the middle of SL1. Stay away from the VR1 hole. (Pretend you are playing the game Operation.)  Standing in front of a mirror is a good idea so you can see the progress screen.  There is no need to rush the procedure.  Take your time.  Understand what you are doing.

Supercard firmware recovery service:

I've noticed an increasing number of posts by people having problems with Supercard going dead.  Most people are just confused about the procedure for getting Supercard working.  However some people have had perfectly working Supercards go dead.  Obviously there is always the possibility the SD/CF or GBA slot contacts are bent or dirty.  Also, a bad CF/SD will make Supercard appear broken.  Some Supercard issues may even be hardware failure.

I believe a small number of Supercards have died because the firmware is corrupt.  If you have a dead Supercard and you've tried everything to get it working, you might want to try re-flashing your supercard using WiFiMe (WMB) and DF's flashmp.zip

If you don't have the desire or means to get WiFiMe (WMB) working, I will personally try to re-flash your Supercard firmware for you.  The procedure is simple enough I will perform this service free of charge to SCDev.org members.  You will need to send your supercard to me and pay for return shipping.  Regardless if my attempt to re-flash your supercard is successful, your supercard will be returned.  PM me if you are interested or need more information.

$50 for your DS "brick" :

I think it's unfortunate people continue to "brick" their DS trying to install/update FlashMe, despite the many warnings posted about power loss, and usually because of silly mishaps.  I want these individuals to understand there are methods to recover a DS after it has been "bricked'.

Depending on how much of the firmware was flashed before power loss, many DS "bricks" can be recovered using the A+B+SELECT+START method to re-install flashme. If this method is unsuccessful, people with some soldering skills can disassemble the DS and attach a home-made PC parallel port interface cable to re-install flashme using ppflash.exe.

For those individuals who are unable to fix their DS with the A+B+SELECT+START method, and don't have the skill or desire to try the ppflash method, I have an alternative for you.  I will purchase DS "bricks" for 50 US dollars each.  Payment will be made via PayPal, money order or cashiers check. I will only buy your DS if it was "bricked" not physically damaged. PM me if you are interested and want more information.

I think it's a fair offer for those who can't.  Considering a dead DS sells for < $50 on ebay.  A working DS (used, fixed) would sell for about $50-$70, for my trouble.  I'll pay for any return shipping.

for the people with bricked and faulty ds's, you can order parts for a really cheap price from ebay.

DS motherboard is something like $30, this would fix a bricked ds
Screen's are around $37 for smashed or spoiled screens
Touch panel is $30 if your touch doesnt work anymore
Speakers are $5 if you hear no sound or have sound issues
Wifi Antenna for $10 if you are encountering wi-fi issues.
DS Shell (Casing) is for $25 for heavily scratched cases.

All are very easy to install, have fun!

That is good information for those willing to take apart their DS and try.  I’m a Software Engineer so I'm not worried about losing business.  I'm providing my service mostly as a curiosity.  If I can resell a used (fixed) DS on eBay for $50-$70 (as I’ve stated), then I made a few bucks for my trouble.

Did you sell a bricked supercard and DS for 58EUR or buy one? Looks to me like another hapless victim of DarkFader's "Im bored so lets mess up peoples machines" day.

BTW: I took my white belt and patiently used a black felt marker on it.  :oops: Hope I used a permanent marker though...

It wasn't the "bricker".  I purchased this DS+SC from a nice guy in France.  I tried to help him fix his DS but he didn't speak English well. So, I told him how to describe his eBay auction.  This person warned me his supercard had ruined two DS's.  Read the entire story here . . .

I got your supercard today.  DarkFader's FlashMP using WiFiMe indeed works.  Your supercard is alive again.  In fact I upgraded your firmware to 1.62 version.  However, the SD slot on your supercard seems to be a little funky.  I had to use some paper to apply pressure on my SD card before it would read correctly. . .



You might want to experiment with that a little more.  :oops:  Your supercard works great once the SD is making proper contact.  Anyway, my wife will mail your supercard back tomorrow.  Enjoy.

Okay I shipped my superpass 2 today but I have to warn you it is in relay bad condition.  the whole thing is basicaly glued together because I had a very hard time taking it apart ( I used a sodering iron with a x-acto knife on the tip).  and then I found out I couldent do the upgrade thing because it didnt have the right connections.  and the switch on the side broke off so basicaly its a piece of junk but at least it still works(I think) :wink: .

Thanks guys, it's really no a big deal.  The NDSL is much easier to recover than the "phat" DS.  The service charge is just enough incentive to get me to take one of my working NDSLs apart.

So far I've only handled five transactions total as a result of this thread, and only one case has been NDSL recovery. I'm offering my services mostly as a curiosity.
