Nintendo just recently concluded a conference on the Nintendo DS a little while ago. Among the new features announced were that there will be an Opera based web broswer addon, as well as a TV tuner addon. On top of this, the release date for New Super Mario Bros. was announced, and Winning Eleven 9 will be wifi enabled.

Thanks for the great news. Finally they are coming out with a browser! I cant wait to get my hands on it! Vpocket became reality lol. It says not firmware, does that mean it would be on a simple DS cartridge?

Hopefully it can be a gba-option-pak cartridge. :S

Otherwise, it could be something like Datel's ... maxmedia. O.o

Hopefully it will run with Supercard! If not then it's worth it to buy anyway (or wait for a fix from Romman).

I know i may be off the mark here, but if this is just on a normal ds cart and can be dumped i think that - if it's code could be analysed (i'm not even sure if thats possible) it could potentially help in future homebrew. That always only leads to good things!

Kinda funny how the TV tuner actually looks like some of the DS dev cart images I have seen.

This gives me hope that it will actually be great! We can only hope that they will add also mail and irc support into it!

this is great news i hope it can be made into a rom and used on a supercard and also it looks like nintendo will be putting it out in June. for the equalivent of 32 dollars

If the opera browser supports sound, flash,java, the potential for this is incredible.  You can use your gmail/pandora/irc web client/...
Maybe you'll can even use it as a VNC viewer!  Can't wait to get it

i think nintendo will add these features like video java enabled stuff as a add-on if the browser is successful
