The supercard is great but it can be better!
Here are three things that would make the best supercard ever!

1.MORE RAM!!!!!! no more slowdowns please
2.smaller cartridge
3.better movie and music compatibility

Is there any way of reaching the author of SC so that this may become posible in the future? Does anyone know?

I'm hoping, too - if/when they release a SC2, I'll be the first in line to get one. Smaller, grey/silver (what's with that heinous blue color???), more RAM, faster SD read/write speeds, and a menu that utilizes the touch screen. Oh yeah and FAT32 support ... That's basically what I'm hoping for. I'm stuck using an SC for all my games because I can't buy real carts here in Tokyo (in English) and 90% of the online stores in the US won't ship to Japan. The remaining 10% that will ship to Japan charge a ridiculous amount for shipping, and I refuse to pay $20-30 for shipping on a $35 game.

So yeah - bring on the SC redesign. I'm sure there are LOTS of people on the boards here who would buy one (or more) ...

Actually it DOES match nice with Electric Blue DS  :D

This is what I want . . .

1)  DDR ram support
2)  microdrive support
3)  extra 3rd screen (Nintendo TS)
4)  fast ass StrongARM processor
5)  retractable solar panels
6)  standard DS game form-factor
7)  cheaper

. . . just kidding

Bigger faster RAM and FAT32 (8GB SD) support would be great.

Well, that's just great for the whopping ten people with blue DSs ... ;)

Just kidding ... :) Anyway I actually painted mine silver to match my DS, so the color wasn't exactly a showstopper. But it would be nice if it were silver/grey/white (something neutral) out of the box ...

1. Smaller
2. faster SD access (which might make #3 a moot point)
3. better RAM (more, faster)
4. FAT32 support
5. Menu with touch-screen support

That's my wishlist, in order of priority.

Well pretty much everything I would like to see is listed except one. Which is, allow you to auto-start a file when started (moonshell for example). If you wish to skip it, have something you hold down when you start, like A and R or something.

i believe if romman (or whoever releases the firmware) tries REALLY hard (ok prolly not THAT hard) he can get the touch screen menu into this line of supercards with a new firmware.

also if we go smaller the sd card wont fit or will stick out
multiple colors is a must
and fat32 support would be VERY nice.

Personally, my main wants for a SCv2 are:
  • Faster RAM. I want my GBA games to work better :)
  • Autostarting certain files, to enable richer menus
  • Reorient the SD slot so that the cards can be hot-swapped.
  • Maybe have two slots so the SC could be used as a file manager.....then again, maybe not....
  • Slightly smaller...I dunno. I think I'm already out of wants, the SC is that good already :)
Although, truth be told, the reason ROMMan has such a large userbase is the price...faster memory would push the price up. Maybe what he needs is a supercard premium/plus/nitro/uber/extreme of sorts. Better stuff...bit more expensive.

Critical_Impact

64 meg of faster memory would rock i reckon

Blebekblebek

i have no idea...
maybe...hm...
1. more color?
2. better Sticker Design?
3. More Multimedia

that's all
all ROM works fine for me... (except PPF)

I for one like that ROMMAN has continued to support the current Supercard.  Some companies (cough Neoflash cough) release a new product very often leaving their previous users left in the dust, and im glad the supercard isn't like that.  The only true hardware problem with the supercard is the slow RAM, something that doesn't even matter for DS play and will drive up the cost of the card.  Making the card smaller or in a different color is an insegnificant change (and one that I wouldn't care about as I like the color/size of my SC), and as has already been addressed; things like a touch screen menu could easily be implemented on current versions of the hardware.  FAT32 support should be possible with the current hardware as well.

The only thing I would change is the location of the SD card, but even being on the side is kinda good because then I don't have to worry about the card falling out.

i agree i like the fact that romman still supports supercard.  not many people are like that.  but those who are, have the best products

sneef

yes.  I agree too.  The other day, my father was in town on a visit, and I was telling him about the whole supercard thing, because he saw it and asked me what it was.  When I described its evolution from a GBA backup device to a full-fledged NDS backup device (all based on free firmware updates) he was really surprised.  He was surprised that Romman didn't release a new product to make extra money from his customers.

aren't we glad we bought supercards? hehe.. i am.

If all you want is faster RAM then get an M3. Seriously, it's nice that you have brand loyalty and all... but if that's truly all you want then just grab an M3. Simple.

FAT32 support could probably be added via a firmware update down the line.

mr_jrt

I don't want a M3 because of the apparently brain-dead save management.

Supercard's sav files are exactly the way I want things to work. Only thing that would be nice is a patch to each game that dumped the sram to the SD whenever an in-game save was performed, but the combos are a workable solution, lacking that.
