An update. All is well now!!  :D I have managed to recover, but not with the CF Supercard, I had the flashme.nds on the supercard on its own and nothing, no matter what I tried nothing at all, so I thought I would try my old F2A flashcart instead and just flashed it with the flashme.nds file on its own and did the Start+Select+A+B and bingo! the screens lit up straight away and the flashme program had automatically started so I picked from that 26% and managed to get to the 100% from there. After flashing I tried with my Supercard and it works great! I really don't understand why it would not boot with supercard maybe its the CF version? Anyway, I hope this can be of some help to those more unfortunate than me who still can't recover from a bad flash

I have the SC CF too and I am certainly gonna buy a Lite eventually... But I also have a F2A card (an old 128 mbit), so from reading your useful info it might be smarter to install Flashme from my F2A card. Good to know now! Thanks!

My F2A was also the old 256Mb one, not ultra. The funny thing is once I finished  flashing the DSLite, the first time I started the Supercard the contents were blank even though I had a few games in the CF card, I removed the card tested it in my PC and all fine, restarted it in my DSL and this time the games appeared. I do wonder if the shutdown during flashing created a glitch on my CF supercard were it could not see the flashme.nds (or any other file) after trying to recover and thats why it didnt work?

hijoputismo

i didn't have any problem from my 3rd shipment ds lite.
also, before flashing it, the firmware version was the same as the first shipment lites.
so i think the lites haven't had a new firmware yet, and all you got was bad luck.
ds | ds lite] + flashme + [supercard sd | supercard ds one (toshiba sd-c512)]

Just built up the courage to flash my lite, and it worked no problems, just used screwdriver and foil and it didn't stop once.

Thanks for the confirmation. That's what I had suspected (hoped)!  :D

solidunit

mine is completely bricked.

Although I think this is mostly my fault. When the screens went off at 1%, I actually hit the power switch thinking I would be turning it back on....When in fact, I REALLY turned it off this time because the amber light that was on went off (i had it plugged in).

Kept hitting the power switch and NOTHING, zippo, nada. No LED's whatsoever. I popped out the battery and popped it back in and still no lights, this thing is DEAD! At least you guys got a green led meaning something is working

I haven't tried the key combinations while hitting the power switch (i will tomorrow) but i'm not optimistic.

Jesus, I feel really bad for all you people who have bricked DS lites. I really don't know what to do now. I thought of importing one, but now with all these bricked units, I wouldn't dare in a million years. I hope there will be more clarity in the future about this more or less random bricking problem.

I know I'm going to buy/flash a DSlite ONLY if I am certain that I'm not going to fuck my DS up.

I really feel bad as well... For some reason I think it has something to do with the type of equipment used to short the SL1. Perhaps screwdrivers have slightly higher resistance compared to aluminium foils, which is why the DS Lites turned off...

Using a combo of aluminium foil and a toothpick, I shorted my SL1 without any problems at all. My screwdriver however gave me many problems...

solidunit

the key combos while hitting the power switch did NOT work. Its bricked for real.

Anyone have a link to that ppflash.zip file? The link on darkfader's site isn't working and google is pointing me back to his site

I wanna see what kind of soldering work this entails

kennyboy

Beta new flashme that supports DS Lite

http://m3-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1842

above links to another spanish or french forum....don't understand what they are saying.

its better to wait for final version....but for the impatient ones, i've tested it and it works. But for supercard users its better to use the other program to adjust brightness in menu.

And there is a need to short SL1 again. But something i observed was that the moment i shorted it jumped to 24%....strange huh...?

Just to add,

I just flashed my DS lite that I got today from Play-Asia.

I used my Supercard & Compact Flash and passme2 (set for Metroid demo).

Everything worked fine. I actually used tweezers to short SL1 (it's easy to see it throught the hole).

Did you try the following method?

Remove Superpass 2
Make sure Supercard is in the GBA slot still with FLASHME.NDS on teh card
Power on whilst holding START+SELECT+A+B
Wait for two black screens and green light. Stop pressing the keys
Press A

For me this loaded the SC loader again.
