Just wanted to ask if it's possible for me to revert back to the original DS Lite firmware.

Reason being,i wanna change the brightness setting and then reflash....

You can still change the brightness setting even on a flashmed lite, there is a moonshell released that let's you change the brightness.

Just hold select and use R+L to change the brightness settings.

Hmm.. yeah, I saw that on infantile paralysiser's site.. my question is whether the brightness change is only while you are in moonshell, or whether it actually stays on whichever brightness setting you chose, even after exiting moonshell or rebooting.

anyone know from experience?  i may just take the plunge and flash my lite to v.7  if the moonshell settings affect system settings.

I'm not sure, cause I don't own a lite but I though the brightness chip has nothing to do with the firmware.
It's not like it stores the setting in the firmware.
I thought it's "saved" by the chip itself

Whould be nice if someone were to clear this up.

Just tried to boot the moonshell 1.11 on my flashed DS lite (FlashME v7) and once it's loaded up the 555k, it just goes to a black screen.

all i have to do is drag the '_BOOT_MP.nds' file onto my SD card then boot it right?

[edit]

Managed to get moonshell 1.11 to boot after i had started up 1.1 (Chose the 1.11 boot file within moonshell). Seems like the brightness setting only works whilst in moonshell because as soon as i turn my DS Lite off, it'll go back to the 3rd brightest setting again.

any ideas anyone? FlashME for DS Lite maybe? =P

It would appear that Moonshell's brightness only works INSIDE of moonshell as mentioned.

I would be thrilled if Loopy or someone could just make a small util that allows you to make firmware changes just to alter the brightness...

This program is for Supercard user to change the brightness and press A + B back to supercard select menu.

so even after using flashme, this app will let you adjust DS Lite brightness, and then you can exit to supercard menu, and run a game at the desired brightness?  cool!

but i can't successfully download the rar file.  it always ends before 100%

goldeneye:  if you've downloaded the file, would you be so kind as to host it for us?

[Edit] too bad it won't be able to affect the brightness of original carts.  [/edit]

Check out this post: http://www.yyjoy.com/yy/?p=445

I can't read japanese, and the translation software didn't help me very much, but it seems that he was able to run noflashme and regain his brightness controls?

only thing is that the screen shots after noflashme look like there's some display problem.  but when i open the shots in a new window they look normal. very weird. [edit] it's just some phasing problem when resizing the image [/edit]

Rikachu

Works like a charm!! (=^_^=)

Can't wait for further developments firmware-wise though!!

If anyone is still having trouble getting the 'ADSLite' software, let me know where i can host it for free and i'll post it up so we can have a back-up just incase.

Awesome! Step by step.... our brightness adjust is returning. :)

Robotochan

I've put up ALite onto my site incase anyone has problems

sneef

thank you robotochan.  i was having problems grabbing it.

now if they would make a similar app for m3 sd slim, i'd be set.. only thing is there's still no way to adjust brightness for original carts.

darkuni

Now, let's get this built into the Supercard firmware...

Wouldn't it be cool if you could power up, holding down a button, and Supercard would auto adjust the brightness to that level?

Even with a proper firmware version, this would still be a damn useful feature!

i agree. it would be cool to be able to adjust the backlight from inside the supercard (or other flash cart) menu, rather than having to boot to the DS menu to adjust it.
