.xsvf files in superpass 2 & a weird superpass 2

what is the point of the .xsvf files that come along with the .gba and .sav files when you change the firmware of superpass 2?

something strange: I have a completely black superpass 2 that looks like this:

the packaging on the box said that it was compatible with NDSL..is this a new model?

I was able to update the firmware, but I 'll have to wait till june 11 to flash the ds lite !

it does NOT look like the normal superpass.

It's the new superpass2 special addition.  It should work great with DSlite.
