I don't know if this is old, or new.
I did a search on it in this forum and I couldn't find anything about it...
So i guess this is quite unknown

I came across something called "Alite" for the Supercard. It can only be used for the DS Lite. It allows you to change the brightness settings and then return to the supercard menu. I am not the developer, I just found it on a website.

I don't have a DS Lite, so whoever does, test it and tell us how it works.
Thanks for your time!
Here it is - ALITE!

It was mentioned back in April  ( http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=348 ) but you're right, its still pretty unknown...  :)

It has always been a great tool - esp. back when there was no Lite firmware :)

Since most of us boot directly to supercard, this is THE way to adjust your brightness.

It might work with a DS FW5 and Flashme v7 lite.

I tested on my friends DS Lite-
It changes the screen brightness just fine!
Returns to supercard menu with A+B pressed

I tested with my regular (but still cool) DS
"DS Lite not detected. ABORT"
Yep, can't change any brightness levels at all...

does anyone know if there is a version that changes the brightness on or off for a regular DS?

I read somewhere that it's a hardware change. The change was with the two magenta screen, version 5 phat ds. Well thats why I heard,
I also try Alite on my gf's phat ds but I got the same error.

ohhhhh boy... can't wait for a DSL SC.

It's unfortunate that Alite doesn't save to the DS.  Only works while you have it running.. once you turn it off, your setting's lost.  Otherwise would be kinda handy.

WOW i need to contact the creator of this so i can get the register to return to the super card menu.

If so i can mod bafio's wifi download application so we never need to remove our sd card again or even restart the ds when we use it.

Apparently Romman has released a hook that will enable homebrew to exit back to the Supercard menu . . .

Top of the page in the menu, profile, then go to the bottom and you're there!

You could try to see what changes in A-lite when it detects a DS lite and hack the check so it always sais yes.
Though I do not recommend it, and it will probably not work.
It was a hardware change btw, the powermanagement chip on the newest DS phats was replaced by the same one inside the DSL.

I don't know. All I currently have is three Supercards.
