I'd much rather keep a retail DS game in the slot as opposed to a passme device.

Actually I've heard that leaving any cart in contact with the contact leads for an extended period of time can wear down and eventually ruin the contacts.

And if you're worried about dust and dirt a can of compressed air will do the trick nicely.

Honestly, there is always a real DS game in my slot.  Why?

Because, well, while the Supercard owns ass, not EVERYTHING plays 100% properly.  Animal Crossing runs like you're playing underwater.  Ultimate Spiderman has its problems.  Several games have slowdowns that normally you won't notice unless you own and play the original game.  Lost Magic is a great example.  That's what's currently in my DS slot.

So, to NOT flash my DS would be an inconvenience. :)

I just noticed my star.  Thank you to the responsible party.

Of course.  But I wouldn't want my cute little DS lite walking around with her holes exposed.   :)

I got my friend a DS Lite for his Birthday and after I fail to flash his DS the first time(I returned it back to the store and got another one). I just order a SuperKey off RealHotStuff and let him use my SuperPass. It came in yesterday and we just took out my old SuperPass and put the SuperKey in it's place and it worked like a dream. In fact when I get a DS Lite I might do the same thing. I'm just waiting for the Black DS Lite to hit the States. I'll still keep my old red one for when other people come over.

It seems to me the superkey isn't so perfect.
Nothing bad however, but still it makes more points for the flashme solution.

I explain :
Some times SC boot in GBA mode thought I didn't press START at power on. It does this either with SCCF or SCminiSD. Or some other times I get a white screen instead of supercard boot menu. Putting SC out and back in usually solve the problem.

I'd rather avoid unnecessary manipulations of my SC.
So maybe I'll go with the flashing process thought reports of bricking scares me to death.

If you use an insulated tool... there is no chance of bricking by accidental contact. Keep your DSL plugged in and you'll be fine. I was scared too, but I remained calm and refused to believe such silly rumors as "new bulids" and bricking if you lose SL1 contact. It's totally safe if you use the right tools.

Wait a minute, can someone please explain what Superkey is? I thought it let you use Supercard without having to flash it. What exactly does it do?

SuperKey is a very good no-pass device... maybe the best one right now. However, as you've read... not everyone loves it's quirks and would like to use it to install FlashMe on their DS/DSL.

Don't mean to sound like a n00b, but what's a no-pass device. What does it do? And also is there any way of using Supercard on a DSL without having the risk of it getting bricked?

Why would using a Supercard brick a DS?  All the bricking talk refers to trying to use FlashME to flash the DSLite.

Okay, yesterday evening was the first NDSL party game session with Superkey.
And... it sucks.

Because of the RSA signature, you can't play one card multiplay freely.
The non-flashed NDSL+ Superkey can't run download play sended from a ROM.
I even tried with superkey inserted while download, still no good.

And since party games is what the NDS is made for, flashme is the only way.
So I have to flash 3 more brand new NDSL of my friends (and 2 useless superkeys).

Thanks for the support Rob !
I've just done it with a toothpick. Went even easier than with DSones I've done.
