New Supercard Rumble Series for DS

My bad if SuperCardStore is not related to this problem.  My sincerest apologies for the misunderstanding!  I have to admit, the handle threw me a bit!

FifthE1ement - a bit of a harsh reply i think.  I have personally upgraded hardware through every single Supercard product made for the DS, and this is the first time I have had a complete zero percent backwards compatibility issue.  I believe you are mistaken about the firmware as well, as I was one of the first people in Japan (or perhaps anywhere?) to flash the NDSL, and I have upgraded through that series of software and firmware upgrades as well without any BC issues.  If I had changed flash card brands or completely switched flash card types or something, your point is valid, but in this case, I am simply upgrading hardware with the same maker and with the same type of flash card.

My ROMS are still intact, just a hastle to have to re-patch all of them again... Worth noting: Apparantly the .sav files will still work fine, which is a nice relief!

  Also, I still think my suggestion for a firmware specifically for the rumble version might have been a better solution.

Sorry if I sounded harsh Daveychan but you were attacking a good fiend of mine.

And if you upgrade from a Compact Flash SuperCard to and SD/miniSD model you have to re-patch as the files won't work. It’s the same if you go from SD/miniSD to Lite models as well. Almost any combination of model upgrades requires you to re-patch so I know you can't be talking about the SuperCard line that you have upgraded. Also when you upgrade the firmware on the SuperCard you almost always have to re-patch your ROMs. And yes the "SAV" files can easily be transferred over.

They also can't make a firmware so that users don't have to update becasue the new Rumble models use a new firmware totally and have different components from the original models.

One last and: Congrats on the SC Rumble purchase!

Enjoy,

with that in mind, the tone of your post really doesn't make sense...

Daveychan

Okay.. looks like I should apologize....

I think i was upset and i definitely shouldnt have snapped at SuperCardStore, most definitely my bad. I'm sorry.

I have never had to repatch my ROMS when upgrading my Supercard, regardless of it being the original Supercard, and then the Supercard Mini, and then the Supercard Lite, and now the Supercard Rumble (all being the SD card types: regular, mini, and now micro.)  Maybe I was just lucky with the ROMS I was using and they didn't need a special patch.

So, to that end, FifthE1ement I apologize to you too.  Perhaps I was just lucky until now that I've never had to repatch my .nds files?!?!

Okay.. so now.. I'll just dig out my .nds files and repatch my games!

Sorry again if my tone was out of line or if i came off rude.

Cheers,

Daveychan

I'm trying to patch Contact and CoMana for SCliteRumble.

It's weird I can't set the rumble features.
And worst, all i get is 2 white screens.

I've tried trim/no trim and etc, nothing changes...

Any advice ?

EDIT:

My Bad.
I was using the SCLite software not knowing there was a SCLiteRumble software.

It would be great to add it to the download section of this site.
Because, for me if it's not on SCDEV.org it doesn't exist ! (Fanboy mode)

can anyone who owns a Rumble card try NES games & see if they work..? Please...

I don't mind missing out on GBA so much as I would mind missing out on some old school classics..

I will try an emulator later.. but from my understanding the Super Card firmwares have NES emulators built into it.. I'm curious to know if it is the same for the Rumble cards..

Thanks,

Keroro

I've just tried. It doesn't work.
The NES files aren't even shown on SuperCard Rumble menu.

By the way I tried to patch Mariokart for rumble effect on R button.
Doesn't work either. Two white screens.

EDIT:
Rumble works on MKart when rumble patch compatibility set on "low".
I was hoping the rumble lasts as long as you keep the button pushed, but it isn't.
Then I'll set it on the item button...

I've run into a few snags when patching my NDS files with the new Rumble software.

Sometimes two white screens on the first try, sometimes the next attempt it works, sometimes a couple of tries are necessary....

I haven't experimented so much with the rumble features... tried it once to see what it was like, but haven't patched anything to include it yet except for Metroid Pinball (v.JPN), which worked fine with the L and R buttons being rumbled.

Anyways.. on to my tip... maybe it's only hit or miss, but i've noticed that when i shorten the name of my nds file to something relatively short and simple (<16 characters or so) the patching seems to have a better success rate.  Also, I'm getting various results on getting my SAV files to work properly.  A couple of times, it was my own mistake, a small difference in the two file names (be careful about that), and others.. no idea why it didn't work.  (In some cases, my old SAV file didn't work at all, but the newly created SAV file did work.)

So.... perhaps the new software still needs a few tweaks here and there, or perhaps i just need a little more patience when populating my card with games!

Hope this information is useful.

I have the supercard Rumble and have not had the problems your are alking about.

I always use the patching details given for the normal supercard, I also make sure i have the correct file name i want on my card before patching.(It usualy is short as it is a simple name of the game only.) I then use the files straight from being patched.

I have also used the IRP patch for the english Metroid prime pimball, patched as told to on supercards web site and it works properly rumbling when it is meant to with the retail rumble.

I don't know if this will help you. But it sound like you are changing the file names after they are being patched? MAybe try not doing that..I don't know if that would make a difference?
