Hi guys, ive always been lurkin in this forum althought i never registered, but this time i thought that my experience would help out peoples with the same problem that has happened to me.

first: if you have updated your SC with the newer firmware 1.70 then PLEASE DON'T TRY TO SKIN YOUR FIRMWARE. The SC will end up in a brick.

Now, if you like me did the skinning using the new firmware (and thats because no one actually bothered to write in the skinning topic that with 1.70 its a no go) 1.70 you probably noticed that the SC will not boot, and it displays only two blank screens.

as the far as i know, there is only one way to unbrick it, at least is the method i used to unbrick my SC wich now is working again.

The requirements are:
A FlashME NDS / NDSLite (wich means the DS with the custom firmware)
A Ralink WIFI NIC installed using the special drivers for it
The Flashmp.nds for Supercard wich can be found over darkfader.net, section NINTENDO DS, bottom of the page
The bricked SC with a card plugged (SD or CF, based on what you have)
The WMB server program that will send the file over the wifi to the nds.

How to:
After you've calmed down a bit (its normal i think: after my SC passed away due to skinning thingy i was in such a rage) boot your DS into the menu.
Now from windows, launch WMB.exe into a Command Prompt window. Put the downloaded Flashmp.nds into the DATA directory. Now in the command prompt window type this:

WMB -DATA flashmp.nds

The program will be in idle, waiting for the DS to accept the file.
Back on the DS, hit Download Play and wait to discover the file that you were about to send using WMB. Download the file and wait till it finishes, now answer YES to the ds when it asks if you want to boot the program.
Now, from the menu, check if the program has seen your card.
The menu should be something like that:

Righ: Supercard CF
Not Found!
Left: Supercard SD
Found!
Up: Supercard Lite
Not Found!

Ok, this is a bad example i know, but i think this will help you out on how the menu looks like. Anyway. Hold L and R and press the corrisponding direction based on what supercard you have. Keep in mind that the program should look for the right supercard automatically.
After you done the buttons combo, the program will first Erase the Supercard firmware, then it will write the old 1.50 to it.
Wait till it asks you to reboot, but dont do it yet. Its always good to wait 5 or more seconds.
Reboot. Now your supercard should bring the menu up like it always did. Download the newest firmware and upgrade it like the old way.
There you go! Your supercard works again.

I hope this helps a bit because i really needed something like this and unfortunately i didnt managed to see a complete guide.

cheers, Doc.

NOTE: i think that the wifime method its the only way to do it. Ive tried using my Xrom512mb to boot up the flashmp.nds and a patched flashmp.nds.gba (using ndsloader and ndsmall.bin) and the results will end up in a white screen. The basis are the same of GBAMP but still its not possible to boot the special flashmp.nds version made by darkfader using a Gba cart and a PASSME. Ive used a DSLite Black and a SuperPass Key and its a no go. I tried then with Flash2Advance 512mb and the results are the same, patched or not patched it doesnt work.
So i assume that this operation can be done only with a flashme DS.

it is on the tut now that it dont work with 1.7f/w now i will give this a go since iam trying tp fix my supercard now :D funny i dint even get mad

FlashMe firmware will always still play orginal purchased NDS games correct? If I change my firmware is basically the same just allows me to do more supercard stuff? I am just paranoid becuase Im broke and wouldnt be able to get another DS lite anytime soon

You hold down the select key while booting up and it goes to original ds menu.

I thought you couldn't use WiFiMe with DS Lites.

Homebrew can be run using WiFiMe/WMB only after a DS Lite has been flashed.

NOTE:
People with with access to a working Supercard can sometimes perform the hot-swap trick . . .
1. put flashmp.nds on your GBA media card (according to the requirements of your GBA media card).
2. Boot it (NDS MODE) and run flashmp.nds
3. hot-swap your bricked SC in your DS (removing the other GBA media card)
4. follow the instructions on screen.

People with corrupt Supercard Lite firmware should try this method . . .
1. Format a MicroSD card.
2. Copy the firmware V1.7 file on it. Don't copy any other files.
3. Insert the MicroSD card and SuperCard Lite.
4. Open the DS power switch, don't care about the screen and wait 5 seconds.
5. press "A" button. You will find out that you can upgrade to V1.7

I've always wanted to know one little thingy about the swap method: when you switch SCs (the bricked one for the working one) what do you need to do with the miniSD/SD? I mean, must you put the card with the flashmp.nds file inside the bricked SC once you swap them? Do you even need a flashcard inserted in the bricked SC at all?

No, you don't have to copy anything special to the bricked Supercard. The trick to recovering a Supercard is getting FlashMP to run.  It doesn't matter if flashmp is started using wifime/wmb or using a second working supercard.  If you can get flashmp running first, and then hot-swap your bricked supercard into slot2 without resetting your DS, then you can continue with flashmp recovery.

Great! Now I'll know what to answer when asked about that :D

Whaaaat!? All sources have neglected to provide that information... does it say on the WiFiMe site? The only reason I don't have WiFiMe is because I have a DSL and I thought it wasn't compatable... does this mean homebrew like Win2DS works on flashed DS's too?

Sorry about getting a bit off topic here though...
