How can I access the original DS start screen?

I was wondering if there was a button (or buttons) that one could press to have the original DS startup screen (the one where you can choose to run GBA or DS games, access the Alarm, adjust brightness) show up instead of the Supercard screen?

Or has a homebrew program been made that would allow a user to run the DS startup screen?

I'm wondering this because what I do to get the DS startup screen running is taking out the Superkey. Sometimes the DS doesn't read the Superkey and so I have to restart the DS multiple times or take out the Superkey one or two times.

you should try using a compressed dust blowing can to blow the superkey pin things. or even maybe inside the slot one. maybe itll fix the reading problem

If your ds is flashed, which it appears it is not after reading further you would press the select key to get to the original DS menu.

Make sure you do not have any lint in the ds slot.

(i dont have a superkey but i do have a nopass ... ah well)

anyways, check to see if your DS is on autostart - as in it will boot up from the NDS without going to the menu... or manual
(but most likely if you dont know what this means, it'll be on manual)

if its autostart, just press and hold START (for unflashed ds) until the Health Screen is fully loaded and press a button and there is the screen....

Just spray it with some WD-40 and light it on fire.

Actually you should just spray some 409 on a Q-tip and run it over the SuperKey pins a couple times.
 like cream soda...

For me, it's holding down SEL while turning it on.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

Woah! Thanks for all of your responses!

If I hold select while I boot the NDS, the screen will turn white until I stop pressing the select (like pressing select delays the loading of the Supercard). The same thing will happen if I press L or R, A, B, X, Y, or the Directional Pad.

For the start button, my NDS will run the Supercard only. (I'm guessing pressing Start autoruns the Slot 2 cart?)

I tried to clean my Superkey and Slot 1, and I think my problem with the Superkey not loading is solved! I used my manual wind power to clean the "Pins".
By the way, is it safe to use a cleaning solution (such as the suggested 409) on the area on the Superkey that is read by the NDS?

Thank you very much for reading and/or helping!

It is probably safe, but let it dry before you put it in your DS!
