one question for bitblt or whoever might know:  is there a way to convert 520k dslink saves to standard 256k saves?  (i wanna edit my animal crossing save using the PC map editor)

Haven't got my Ds-Link yet, should be here in a couple of days, but I'm really hoping this is possible, for various reasons.

Anyone know how to get the firmware upgrade to run?  I downloaded the update, copied it to the card, run it and it says something like DSLink not found or something ...

I have manually copied Supercard save data to a DSLink save file.  The save file I converted was MechAssault. DSLink does not seem to import MechAssault correctly.

Both systems seem to store game save data in a linear fashion.  Supercard save data appears to always start at the beginning of the 256K save file.  DSLink may have the same information embedded within the 520K save file. However the data itself appears to be the same on both systems. If you look at the first few bytes of save data they are the same.

I was able to use a hex editor to manually perform a block cut and paste of the game save data from a supercard save file to a DSLink save file.  This worked with MechAssault.  I'm sure I could convert a DSLink save file to a Supercard save file with the same technique.

Do you have the US version? The US version comes in a box not a metal can. You need the correct firmware for your version.

I have the box version (US).  I got the US version (not the Chinese one) of the firmware.  Thoughts?

Are you downloading the firmware from here http://www.ds-link.net/ ? Perhaps the firmware is already upgraded and DSLink won't let you do it again? I'm not sure what the problem is.  I also have the US version.  The only thing I can think of is that I was using my 512MB Kingston when I upgraded to the 1.11 firmware, because I didn't have my Verizon 2GB Sandisk yet.  Try to upgrade the firmware with a different microSD if you have one.  Fry's sells a Kingston 512MB for like $17, and you can return it if that doesn't help.

Just got my DS-Link in the mail (at last!)

So far so good, has run every ROM I threw at it, converted the saves no problems. Booted starfox properly (whooo, eat that supercard!) and I had no problems updating it.

Software is nice, auto-trims games and there's no stupid restart feature. Translation is awful though.

Love the skinnable UI, anyone made any skins yet?

Only downer is the way it doesn't show the full names of too-recent ROMS in the UI, just the filename. As for performance, it gets 100% from me so far :)

Greetz Tiny.

It supports normal in-game save.
