Stupid question....but is there a way to screenshot in DS?

jelbo

It's doable for homebrew developers to implement in their app, but afaik it's impossible for commercial games.

cygig

then how do they get screenshots in gamespots or other gaming webby? Camera?

jelbo

I think they get most from the developers or publishers. I think I remember reading at IGN once that they had special equipment for their GBA's to record video from it, so a similar thing might exist for the DS. I believe HAL Laboratories develops stuff like that, but it won't come cheap, if even you're able to get it as a consumer.

i wonder if scanner can do the job on screenshot, justpop in and scan.

Nope. Scanner = Worse than camera. There's two ways:

1) Use emulator, then press Alt+Print Scr, then past that in MS Paint or Photoshop or something and trim the edges.

2) Use the Nintendo screen-shot device to view your DS screen on a computer, then do the last past of step 1.

Just for the record, the only way to get your hands on the device in #2 is to steal it from Nintendo. They wont sell them "for their own reasons".
