How would you upgrade the Hard Drive after a softmod?

Can you softmod a 120gig Xbox?

Yes it's very posssible and pretty easy after you've soft modded the xbox. You use Evox dash (run it as a small program) and back up your system's key. Then you burn that key plus your hard drive contents of C,E to your PC with an FTP program like FlashFTP(buy it). Then you'll use a method called Xbox Hard Drive Maker 1.6, drop the contents of C, E and your key to the proper locations in it's file system, and batch an ISO with it. Burn the ISO to a cd, then it's pretty much cake from there.

get a pc, take out the hard drive, set it to load from the CD-ROM drive in the BIOs, put in the cd you made and plug in the 120gig hard drive you'll be using. run it, copy the files over, EMPTY THE CACHE FOLDER IN E DRIVE BEFORE CLOSING, lock it. you're ready to install the new 120.
